There are unconfirmed reports this morning that biotech millionaire John Crowley has decided not to seek the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, ending several days speculation that he might mount a challenge to four-term Democratic Sen. Frank Lautenberg. With just a week before the April 7 filing deadline, it appears that the GOP field with include Goya Foods millionaire Andy Unanue, State Sen. Joseph Pennacchio, and Ramapo College Professor Murray Sabrin. Morristown Mayor Donald Cresitello is launching a challenge to Lautenberg in the Democratic primary, while former Democratic State Chairman Tom Byrne is also considering a Senate bid.

HUGE LOSS FOR THE GOP
While this is a huge loss for the GOP this cycle, if we can glean anything from what we have seen of Crowley's life, it's clear this guy has his priorities in line. Let's hope he steps forward one day when he's ready.
I just heard a huge sigh of relief from the others in the GOP field and especially Lautenberg....
We're toast if this is true
Any of the present three GOP candidates will not beat a democrat.
Disappointing But...
Upon hearing Crowley's story, I was impressed and intrigued with a Crowley campaign and I would have most likely have voted for him. on the otherhand, I thought about his kids and the timing of the campaign launch. I thought that it wasn't the right time to jump in and a story and he would be better served by declaring for a future race (Menendez perhaps) in order to create a campaign organization worthy of his story. Ultimately I am glad he didn't run...
Since Crowley Ain't In It Anymore...
Since Crowley ain't in it anymore, that means it is time to support Joe Pennacchio.
After all, are you gonna support Andy "Happy Hour" Unanue?
Or Murray "Tin Foil Hat" Sabrin?
Heck
Tom Wilson still has a week to find another "winner".
I would love a Pennacchio v Cresitello election in Nov. The country club guys on both sides would have a fit.
