List

What about Wayne Bryant? or a fine fellow like Jeff Nash?

Or Vernon Hill.  I hear he is looking for work.

Impressive, if only true.

If Andrews wins the primary ... I will ... wake up bum!

O yes, the reality.

How come McCain has only 20 names for VP? Norcross has already 16 names for the US Congress. What if Dr. Sabrin wins in November, how many names will there be to replace his position at Ramapo? Would Jon be involved in that?

real list?

what's the "real" short list....this is a lot of window dressing.

it's about time

There has been much buzz about running Troy Singleton for various positions, but it's about time they actually do it. Hes both smart and young and would add some much needed energy and diversity to the Democratic ticket.

Has Andrews committed political suicide?

Really hard to read the tea leaves here.

Why would a bright, articulate and accomplished legislator decides days before the filing to run? What was the motivation?

For Norcross the motivation is to move everyone up the ladder a notch for guy who's been in Washington almost as long as Lautenberg!

So much for change.

Obviously, Andrews could care little about his own congressional seniority and feels by challenging an incumbent (first time in NJ since Bell defeated Case in 1978), he must believe he can win the primary!

Andrews will carry Camden, Salem, Cape May, Atlantic, Burlington, Gloucester and Ocean counties. Things become more competitive as he moves north with Monmouth, Middlesex, Mercer and Union (even though Lesniak is with him).

Without a Stack alliance in Hudson, can Andrews actually beat Lautenberg in Bergen with Rothman & Weinberg with the incumbent?

Or is this just a trial run for a real primary next year against Corzine?

Inquiring minds are confused.

The REAL short List

The real short list is Sweeney and Greenwald.

Oh, decisions......decisions.....decisions.

Who's it going to be Mr. N.?

04/03/08 3:06 pm

You gotta love.....

.....good old scum-bag South NJ Democratic politics.....this candidate will be picked, paid for, and controlled by d-bag Norcross.

04/03/08 3:15 pm

You all forget the obvious....

Gwendolyn Faison!

When she speaks, she makes just about as much sense as the senior senator from New Jersey.

04/03/08 3:56 pm

Dana Redd.

Dana Redd....Congresswoman. How could there be any other choice? The south nj power brokers are progressive. They look at all factors. Dana Redd fits right in. What's not to like?

Wrong List?

Is that the short list for Andrews' seat or the list of CamCo Dems under federeal investigation?

04/03/08 4:41 pm

TimeOut

Really, it's not who or who isn't on the list that's the news!  The questions are why does Norcross control the list and why doesn't any news media question or challenge his power?  Better question:  Where are the real Democrats?

It's Disgusting and Nauseating and Corrupt That...

The "Norcross List" is deemed such a lock that, evidently, there is no other serious candidate considered here.

This isn't democracy folks. It does not have to be this way.

There are real Democrats and real Republcans in NJ who MUST take back their parties from the entrenched and corrupt machines that rip all of us off.

No effing wonder the state is in the hole!

The fact that New Jersey's entrenched system of political bossism is even LEGAL is an abomination!

We need 100% public financing of all campaigns and we need serious new laws that impose a zero toleance policy on any and all kinds of corruption along with heavy duty jail time for any and all violations of the public trust at any level.

From Frederick Douglass

If there is no struggle there is no progress......Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.

Disgusting is right

Nick your correct.  Funny how Paul Moriarty started as an investigative TV reporter digging for crap like this and lo and behold, now he's made the short list of corrupt ambition homeself.  My how one's ethics can change when your the one who benefits.

NO surprise union thug sweeney is on the list.

Disgusting to even say there is a list controlled by someone who has never run for office and has no accountability to the public.   OF course a democrat. Once more, another reason to leave this state.

04/03/08 9:19 pm

Troy Singleton?

Are you smoking Camden crack?  he can barely talk!

04/03/08 11:03 pm

Troy Singleton

Apparently MoeGreene has been sampling the Camden crack he’s been speaking about.  Clearly he or she has never met Troy Singleton and has never heard him speak.  Troy would be a great congressman.  He’s intelligent, well spoken, and extremely hard working.

KINGMAKER NORCROSS!!!!

WOW!, Look at the Shortlist,  I believe the South Jersey KingMaker has already made his choice for the 1st District seat. Think about it, Andrews decided a month ago, he was going to do this.  Then strategy dictates you wait to the last minute so no "OUTSIDER" has time to muster the forces to gather the signatures needed or the petitions needed to mount an organized effort to be placed on the ballot.

The INSIDE JOB AND CHOICE HAS BEEN ANNOINTED ONLY WE THE PUBLIC DON'T KNOW WHO THIS SECRET CANDIDATE WILL BE UNTIL MONDAY MORNING WHILE SIPPING OUR MICKIE DEES COFFEE AND A FAST FOOD PANCAKE ON A PLASTIC FORK, ALONG WITH READING THE COURIER-POST TO MAKE THE GREAT FRONT PAGE ANNOUNCEMENT AS:

G.NORCROSS SELF INDULGENT KINGMAKER ANNOUNCES HE WILL TAKE UP THE POSITION OF CANDIDATE AND MIMIK CONGRESSMAN BOB BRADY OF PHILADELPHIA,  WHY NOT GOOD OLD GEORGE, HE HAS THE BUCKS, THE CONNECTIONS AND HE STILL CAN KEEP EVERYONE IN LINE.

Boss Politics at its best, It's no wonder NJ citizens are leaving the Garden State in Droves, 285 homes are up for sale in the zip code of (08096) alone, I am sure most is for the average property tax of  $6,000 bucks and of course the high school taxes of Deptford Township.

AS for the Senate Race, Frank Lautenberg should be honored for saving the party seat after Torricelli implosion, instead, some party powerborkers want to kick him on his ASS, instead of allowing the Senator one last hurrah.

My vote goes to Launtenberg out of respect for his entrepreneurship and his dedication to the little guy, the Joe Sixpack and for working in private industry, I cannot support Andrews, because he is out of touch with the people in his own Congressional District.

My name is JOE.

First off...

Mr. G. Norcross has been an ally and champion for South Jersey politics, and until the North realizes that people will never understand the Democratic boss himself. Secondly, Mr. Lautenberg, though a patriot and one who deserves some praise, has done nothing then following the lead of Mr. Menendez. Mr. Lautenberg went negative on "Day One" of the campaign and showed he learned campaign tricks from Rove, Dowd, Cheney, and Bush Jr.

Seriously, Mr. Lautenberg questions Andrews' foreign policy and that is all. Well, Mr. Lautenberg where were you when the Iraq War vote was taken? Oh wait, you were in "retirement" from the United States Senate! It is very easy to say you are against the war without having the intelligence that Mr. Andrews, et al, had before the historic vote. Also, I would love to bring the attention to everyone that Mr. Lautenberg, in all his years and wisdom, voted for a bill in 1994 that would keep an embargo against Vietnam. Now that is judgment that I would love to continue to speak for New Jersey and the United States of America.

Menendez and Lautenberg have been staunch supporters of keeping a strict and strong embargo against the island-state of Cuba. Yet, any student of international relations would tell you that economic sanctions and embargos rarely work since they normally just hurt the people they are supposedly trying to help. Mr. Lautenberg, I have seen you on the Senate floor, I have watched you on CSPAN, I have read your statements, I have reviewed your bills, and I have respected you for years, but please you need to remember that you were a fill-in. Until the North realizes that Mr. Lautenberg was just a fill-in for someone who had promise, potential, and vigor then they will never understand why a change from Mr. Lautenberg is in their interest.

I would seriously love to ask Mr. Lautenberg questions regarding his policies regarding homeland security. He truly believes he has helped New Jersey become safer, but I seriously doubt that.

Please, citizens of New Jersey, do your homework!
