Camille Andrews will file for Congress

South Jersey Democrats will file nominating petitions today for Camille Andrews, the wife of Rep. Rob Andrews, as a candidate for Congress in the 1st district.  Sources say that she will act as a placeholder until party leaders can formally select a candidate to run in this safe Democratic district.  Rob Andrews, who is challenging Frank Lautenberg in the Democratic U.S. Senate primary, is expected to announce that he will end his eighteen-year career in the House regardless of the results of the primary.

Covering Rob's Tush

This just proves that Andrews is not in this to win.  I hope someone can get up the sigs today to beat her in the primary so he can't just switch himself back in.

this makes andrews look scared.  why should anyone take a chance on backing him when he is using his wife as a safety net?  the GOP is in disarray and we Dems are doing our best to replicate them

Make Her the Permanent Candidate

She need not be the placeholder on the ballot -- btw, Rob is going for broke on the senate bid; he's not going back for Congress -- as Camille Andrews, who holds a J.D. degree and is the Associate Dean for Rutgers-Camden Law School, is talented in her own right. The Andrews name is highly respected in district 1, Camille is talented, and we need a female congressperson from N.J. She should be the congressional candidate in district 1, though that makes for a hard choice between her and Ibn-Ziyad.

All in the family.

It takes a man to be a man. Using your own wife to keep your seat ready in case you loose is a shame game.

good strategy, after all

Who wants to give up that Congressional Health Care Plan?

running scared

is no way to run at all. how many times have we seen someone say this is their last time or they're in it to win it and then immediately go back on their word. of course andrews said he is done with that congressional seat and that he is going for broke in the senate race because he would get a whole lot less support if he didnt. this is just more proof that andrews is a self serving politician who has put himself ahead of all others. and for those that say this is good for democracy, that people should have a choice i would agree, but the way andrews got into this race was to shortcut every other rep and to make it a two man race with FL. and now he's pulling his wife into the mix? what a hack.

Dana Redd.

Let's see....Why wasn't Dana Redd chosen? Camden County needs to check itself. It's one thing for the disloyal Robbie Andrews to run against FL, but putting his wife in his seat is reprehensible.

Placeholder

Its a placeholder on the ballot so they can wait past the deadline to slect the candidate to run for Congress. Get with the program.

Cute,

But, politics ain't. Of course the simplistic and mindless boobery of certain dems would have you believe that the rutgers law school person is a placeholder. Maybe. What's the delay...poor planning? Last minute decision making? I think it's cute. Program=lazy thinking. Dana Redd should be the candidate. Case Closed.
