Gov. Jon Corzine continues to struggle with an upside-down 34%-52% approval rating, according to a new Monmouth University/Gannett New Jersey poll released this morning. He was at 37%-52% in March and 40%-44% in January.

Was McG
ever this low?
And well earned it is.
Governor Corzine's low rating is extremely well earned. The man hasn't done one damn good thing for the citizens of this State. The bad news for him is that people are beginning to figure him out. They see him as the self-interested, egotistical, arrogant, do nothing that he is.
A rating below 20% is very possible.

Let's get this guy out of there before he does any more damage.
More Taxes and Tolls!
Corzine & Lesniak are championing a toll increase and a potential gas tax increase. And we wonder why his ratings are in the dump?
Even in Washington, the left-leaning liberals have offered a tax rebate to stir the economy. Why doesn't Corzine understand that you cannot increase taxpayer's burdens when the economy slows down? The Guv may know finance, but he does not understand economics.
"A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have.” - Thomas Jefferson
As they say on McLaughlin...
Bye Bye! The Republicans may win Hudson County with Corzine at these levels.
Leave it to Governor Corzine..
He wants to tax fast food places as a means to help out NJ's hospitals, but he's also taxing people trying to lose weight and stay in shape with his gym and health club membership tax.
Talk about mixed signals...
Jon is no financial wizard!
One of the expectations that voters in NJ had was that his Wall Street experience and his wealth independence would be put to work to fix NJ financial problems. If you look at the subprime crisis you know what Jon's Wall Street experience is and this is exactly what he suggested with his Asset Monetization of NJ highways. Obviously, you can do financial tricks with your own money. If you get rich on that good for you. However, NJ taxpayers are getting tired of the same tricks to be used with their money while they have to foot the bill at the same time. This is like paying for your dinner twice. Once to the waiter, a second time to the owner in charge of the register by the exit. Let's not mention that they both work for the same restuarant (or NJ State if you will).
If he runs, He will be reelected
He is the only one who has come to the table and offered a way to solve the structural budget problem (which he didn't create but Whitman and McGreevey did). Who supported him? Who helped him.
In lieu of his plan, he has offered a budget that the whiners asked for and it makes some hard cuts, i.e. having to pay for state police protection, dumping the DOA, etc. Now listen to the same republicans complain about budget cutting.
The people will understand that he has been a leader with good ideas and he is a nice guy with lots of his own money to get his message out.
I really don't know why he would want to do this again!
