Congratulations to Eric Munoz, a trauma surgeon, five-term Assemblyman, and the smartest member of the New Jersey Legislature, according to PolitickerNJ.com readers. Munoz won the Smartest Legislator Tournament, where over 100,000 votes were cast during six rounds over the last two weeks.
Munoz, 6who was the #4 seed, defeated Barbara Buono in Round 1, John Wisniewski in Round 3, Charlotte Vandervalk in the Sweet Sixteen, Mary Pat Angelini in a controversial Elite Eight that was marred by the presence of a computer robot who cast thousands of votes for Angelini, Bob Gordon in the Final Four, and Pamela Rosen Lampitt in the final round.
A 60-year-old Republican from Union County, Munoz is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and he received an MBA from Columbia University. He served as a Summit City Councilman before his election to thMe State Assembly in a 2001 special election convention.

Congratulations Dr. Perjury
Awesome!! I think Lying and Perjury while testifying as an expert witness in a trial are excellent qualifications to be NJ's Smartest Legislator.
Who are those people?
Is Wally Edge sure they are from NJ? Does anybody know Angelini, Lampitt, and finally Munoz? No offense, but it seems to me that Codey is the smartest of the bunch. Just look at his resume and ability to float above financial crisis and debt of NJ. At the same maintaining the image of a jovial grandfather, loyal husband and loveable father. Way to go Wally!
What a Joke
This whole contest was a joke. Eric Munoz? Please! Give me a break. In a contest in which John Adler, the winner last time lost in the second round, you know this poll is a waste of time.
Smart Choices
A really smart legislator would figure out that it wasn’t necessary to enact devastating budget cuts (closing parks and hospitals, taking medicine away from seniors) while leaving corporate tax loopholes wide open. There are better choices for New Jersey.

inquiry
seems like politicker was interested enough in the computer robot...why not look at which offices & municip the bulk of the votes for munoz were coming from...wouldn't be surprised to find ursula & her eels were involved
HAHA
I needed a good laugh this morning...thanks Wally.
Just Goes to Show You
Just goes to show you want a bunch of idiots there are in the Legislature. Munoz is fine, but Bramnick probably smarter. Codey? Please. The Dem majority is made up of pirates and thieves. But I guess you're right, figuring out how to coble 2-3 pensions together at taxpayer expense without going to jail does take some smarts. KEEP GOING CHRISTIE TIL THEY'RE ALL IN JAIL!
