U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg has cancelled a fundraiser at a Bruce Springsteen concert on Sunday evening after the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority decided not to seek his campaign premium seats at face value, according to a report from The Record’s Charles Stile. Lautenberg had asked for a block of 40 tickets the sports authority reserves from VIP’s and political insiders, which he planned to but for $108 each and resell them to donors for $1,500 per ticket.
“Senator Lautenberg has the responsibility to help obtain federal funding for the rail connection to and road improvements around the Meadowlands,’’ said GOP State Chairman Tom Wilson said in a statement printed by The Record. “His request for a special favor from the NJSEA to help his campaign looks like an old fashioned quid pro quo.”

Brilliant Move
What a stupid thing to do...I wonder what Einstein came up with this gem...
Why?
Why is it a bad idea? We donate money to go to those boring dinners that politicians put together. What's the difference if instead of cocktails and asskissing, we enjoy a concert instead?
Frank is ... no scalper!
Good for Frank!
Frank is ... no rock fun!
Forget it Boss. Your music is not for my old ears! We'll do some polka instead.
Can I get some of the tickets?
Now that the Senator won't be getting them, can I have a pair?
A senior moment for Frank
Yikes!
Frank is ... forgetful!
Can we just all sit down and talk about it? Peace is the most important. After all, getting 40 tickets (prime seats through a special deal with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority) and selling them for 1000% mark up is not that bad. We all do it everyday. Frank is simply forgetful. Who would remeber all these Senate rules, ethical rules, and human decency. It is politics as usual, the NJ version. So let's all calm down and listen to the Boss. No, not Frank, the real Boss Bruce.
Swap Out
Maybe when Franks numbers get so bad and the deadline has passed they can swap Codey or Torch for Frankie Boy.
Scalper!
I can't believe anyone would scalp tickets for a political fundraiser and think it's OK. Unbelievable! Scalping is illegal - at least that's what they tell us.
Please. Cancel the campaign.
Is this what we have to look forward too?
The "fossil" thinking he's Clarence Clemens?
Do us all a favor and don't conduct a campaign.
Frank is going to win anyway, Zimmer is way too incompetent to even make it close. He'll get the usual 45% every other Republican gets. Lautenberg will get the usual 53% and we can all call it a day!
This way, we'll be spared the day to day nonsense of watching this 200 year old fool waste millions on consulting fees to scam consultants and others who contribute nothing to the political dialogue.
Vote Column - All the way!
