In response to today Myers' campaign press release, Kelly consultant David Murray said:
"Chris Russell should spend more time with his dictionary and learn how to read. We will, once again, refer him to former SJTA Executive Director, James Crawford's letter published in the May 7 Asbury Park Press:
'The May 4 editorial in the Asbury Park Press on Ocean County Freeholder John P. Kelly's employment at the South Jersey Transportation Authority appears to accept statements by Chris Myers … as truth without looking into the facts.'
'Kelly performed his work well and attentively. As executive director at the time, I would frequently go to the airport to observe activities. Kelly was there and working.'
Does Chris Russell contend that Mr. Crawford is lying? The Asbury Park Press certainly believes that Mr. Crawford is honest.
In it's 2007 Annual Report, Chris Myers' employer, Lockheed Martin, reports that 84% of the company's 2007 revenue came from U.S. government contracts. That means that 84% of Mr. Myers' $350,000 salary (including bonus) was paid for by taxpayers. Mr. Myers, therefore, has a higher standard for public disclosure that he has failed to meet. What is Chris Myers' hiding when he refuses to:
- Tell us what it costs taxpayers to pay HIS health insurance, HIS pension and HIS expense account?
- Where he was when in 2006 and 2007 he missed 25% of his Medford Council meetings?
- Where he was in 2004 when he, as Mayor, failed to show to vote on his own municipal budget, a budget that raised taxes 21%?
- What is Vice-President of Business Development with responsibility for new business acquisition if not a salesman seeking contracts from government?
- What Members of Congress have Myers and his lobbyists met with or talked with in the past five years?
- How many among them received campaign contributions from Myers personally or from Lockheed Martin? And how much?
- What has Myers to gain by opposing a fence on America's borders and instead supporting electronic surveillance like those produced by his company?
