Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen helped D.C. police officers arrest a man who stole his wallet, according to a local television station report. NBC4 in Washington said that Frelinghuysen "was walking in the Georgetown section of the city about 9:30 p.m. when he was approached by a group of young men. The congressman told officers he felt someone grab at his wallet. But when he turned, the person started running away. Frelinghuysen began chasing the man and was joined by two D.C. police officers who happened to be driving by." An 18-year-old man was arrested, and police are searching for the ssecond suspect.

It's nice to see that the good Congressman opposes thievery, whether it's by pickpockets or Democrats.;-)

Yeah but...
Did the Congressman slap the pickpocket?
Unconfirmed reports out of DC said the pickpocket was a Ficus Tree.
The Rodney I Know ...
The Rodney I know would not have had more than seven bucks in his wallet. BUT they are seven bucks he would fight tooth and nail to get back!
A Few More Thoughts
The point is, the little thief who grabbed for Rodney’s wallet simply picked on the wrong guy!
Contrary to the Thoughtless dig above, the Rodney I know was a sergeant while he was serving in the army in Viet-Nam, in an engineering construction outfit -- the 93rd Engineer Battalion. They did bridge repair work among other things, and were damn tough customers, those guys. And, he was there during a period when there were substantial “troop strength” shortages, and while they were implementing the “civilianization” program, with obvious intelligence concerns. They had to keep their eyes open at all times. The VC did not want those repairs made!
So, it doesn't surprise me one bit that Rodney would give chase and help nab the crook. Thoughtless, on the other hand, apparently thinks stopping a criminal is something to poke fun at. I can just imagine what kind of society he would like ours to become!
Maybe Rodney would have made a good governor. He might have even help put a stop to some of the institutional pick-pockets of the political persuasion that has been stealing us blind.
