GOP Mayor backs Dem Senate candidate

Democratic State Senate candidate Dana Redd has won the endorsement of a Republican Mayor in her district.  “I’ve been following Dana Redd’s career for a long time, so when she announced her bid for Senate I was impressed that she sought my advice, face-to-face, on local issues in Audubon and her agenda for reform in Trenton," said Audubon Mayor Anthony Pugliese, the Mayor since 2001 and a former Republican State Committeeman from Camden County.

"Both Dana and I believe that the people come before political party, and that independent-minded leadership is the only way to solve the critical burden of property taxes and other pressing problems we face," said Pugliese.

Redd is the candidate of the Camden County Democratic organization to replace retiring State Sen. Wayne Bryant in the fifth district.  She is a Camden City Councilwoman and Vice Chairwoman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee.  The district is overwhelmingly Democratic.

Could it be that the Democrats have the district locked up, and Mayor Pugliese is feathering his bed rather than maintaining integrity?

Mr. Audubon Mayor

First, Audubon has non-partisan races so he is not a GOP Mayor.

Second, Pugliese was never a real Republican. He's more of an empty suit like the blind mayor of Winslow.  He's chatty with the Camden County Democrats because he doesn't have too many friends in the South Jersey area.

Third, this guy sold his soul so Unions wouldn't protest the Walmart that was built on his main street a few blocks away from the landmark GO-GO Strip Club.  Pugliese, way to attract the Camden City folk into the once clean suburbs.

You drank too much of that Green Wave water.

Collingswood, your town will never be.

Audubon Mayor

The last time Anthony Pugliese was a Republican - Gee, I can't remember along with his old-time buddy John "Helter Skelter" Hanson, you know the guy, sold his political soul for the DRPA.

One from the past who knows.
