GOVERNOR CORZINE TO NOMINATE
HAZEL GLUCK TO UMDNJ BOARD

- Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced that he will nominate Hazel Gluck to the Board of Trustees of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.Gluck, whose 40-year public service career began on the Lakewood Board of Education, is currently a partner at the MBI-Gluckshaw government relations firm. During the Kean Administration, Gluck served as commissioner of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and the New Jersey Department of Insurance, and as chairwoman of the New Jersey Transit Corporation. She graduated from the University of Michigan at Anne Arbor and resides in Brick.
The University of Medicine and Dentistry Board of Trustees is charged with a wide range of duties that include setting the school’s curriculum and policies, as well as briefing the Governor and Legislature on the condition of the college. The board also sets tuition rates and salary for the College President and professional staff. The board of trustees is made up of 11 private citizens who must be nominated by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate.
