GOVERNOR CORZINE SIGNS LEGISLATION
TRENTON - Governor Jon S. Corzine signed the following bills into law.
S-695/A-1432 (Weinberg, Bucco/Vainieri Huttle, Johnson) – Increases maximum municipal dog license fee from $7 to $21.
S-1082 (Rice) – Requires manager of State-sponsored rental housing to hold quarterly meetings to discuss tenant complaints.
S-1115 (Rice/Turner) – Imposes civil penalty on owner or lessee who fails to return security deposit to tenant whose rent or income is State-subsidized; allows recovery by the State.
A-1897/S-1879 (McKeon, Roberts/McNamara) – Extends application deadline for financing for closure and associated remediation of regulated underground storage tanks; requires notification to municipalities by DEP of underground storage tank fund.
A-2542/S-1550 (Thompson, Conners, Whelan, Cruz-Perez, Stanley/Girgenti, Kyrillos) – Extends eligibility for higher education tuition assistance to certain former members of New Jersey National Guard and increases number of tuition-free credits available to National Guard members and their dependents.
A-2977/S-1928 (Prieto, Wisniewski, O’Toole, Stack/Vitale, Sacco) – Establishes commuter transportation services public awareness campaign in DOT.
A-2979/S-2165 (Wisniewski, Prieto, O’Toole, Voss/Sacco, Vitale) – Revises certain penalties relating to operation of autobuses.
ACS for A-2983/S-1955 (Giblin, Wisniewski/Vitale, Sacco) – Concerns transportation services used in connection with temporary help service firms.
ACS for A-2984/S-2164 (Wisniewski, Giblin, Gordon/Vitale, Sacco) – Concerns withholding and diversion of wages by temporary help service firms.
