GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES MEMBERSHIP OF NJSEA
PRESIDENT/CEO SEARCH COMMITTEE
TRENTON – Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced the membership of a search committee tasked with finding the next President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.
The committee, composed of five members, will move expeditiously to identify a replacement for current President and CEO George Zoffinger, who recently announced his retirement. To allow for an orderly transition, Zoffinger has agreed to stay on in his role until a successor is named.
“The Sports and Exposition Authority is vital to our efforts to spur economic development in the Meadowlands region and across the state,� Governor Corzine said. “George Zoffinger has provided strong vision and tremendous leadership over the past five years, and I expect the search committee to find a top-flight successor who will ensure that the Authority continues to fulfill its potential as an economic driver for the state.�
The members of the committee are:
• A. Matthew Boxer, Esq., Director of the Governor's Authorities Unit
• Pamela T. Miller, Esq., Member, NJ Sports & Exposition Authority and Vice President, Market Strategy and Development, Medco
• Carl J. Goldberg, Chair, NJ Sports & Exposition Authority and Partner, Roseland Property Company
• Gary Rose, Chief of the Governor’s Office of Economic Growth
• Tomas J. Padilla, Bergen County Freeholder
The Sports Authority overseas sports, entertainment and convention facilities across the state, including the Meadowlands and Monmouth Park Racetracks, Giants Stadium, Continental Airlines Arena and the Atlantic City Convention Center.
