At a campaign event in Passaic on Monday night, Clinton fund-raising co-chair John F.X. Graham predicted a victory for his presidential candidate.
"I think it’s going to be the best thing for New Jersey to have someone who’s going to help our state the way she will when she gets in there and gets elected," Graham said. "Hillary Clinton is the most qualified from day one to lead this country, and she will do it. She’ll do a great job."
A self-professed big Sen. Barack Obama fan, Graham said he thinks the Illinois senator would be a great "number two."
"But we also have Bob Menendez floating out there as well, our own New Jersey guy," added Graham, who joined Clinton in New York on Tuesday evening for her victory party.
Apparently, the GOP vice presidential nominee -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- has come as a huge surprise to Democrats.

Get back to work
Now stop pontificating about Bob Menendez becoming VP and get your ass back to what you and the oft-vaunted "group" do best-- fund-raising. We need your leadership!
Geographic Loyalty?
Mr. Graham's initial reasonl for supporting HC is the most instructive beore he launches into the scripted talking points. HC is the best candidate for NJ either because he supposes she'll bear some geographic loyalty, or true to Clinton form she's promised the moon and to hell with all those other states who vote Republican anyway.
I am so sick of this triangulation politics. Barack Obama is showing strength all accross the country. The opportunity to unite US and move forward on the tough issues is at hand and all these party apparatchik's can contemplate is their own selfish self interests disguised in local pork projects.
How does this score with your geographic matrix? Young upwardly mobile, high income families like my own, leave this state in droves because of the explosion in social service costs brought on by the ageing population (who voted us into this mess in the first place); and the complete dissolution of an effective public education system because of a $6 billion budget defecit.
If the Democratic machine (and I'm especially including Jon Corzine in on this one) were not so TONE DEAF they would see a solution to some of our problems in Obama's call for volunteerism and shared sacrifice. But instead we're going to hang our hats on HANDOUTS from Hillary Clinton.
The Greatest Generation has been succeeded by the Most Selfish Generation. The rest of US will be left to pick up the pieces. MY KIDs and I THANK YOU MR. Graham for your LEADERSHIP right into the trash bin of FAILED STATES.
