District 8 Senate candidate Phil Haines, a Republican, continues to assail his opponent over his professional record, while the Democratic Party undercard is fighting back by making Haines’ running mate, Dawn Marie Addiego, the issue.
Haines wants to know what Democratic Assemblyman Francis Bodine did as an employee with the South Jersey Port Corporation between 1989 and 1992, and why he collected $250,000 from the public entity and had a personal car.
"Fran needs to tell voters what he did there, since in response to our repeated requests the South Jersey Port claims they can produce very little proof that he did anything," said Haines.
On the other side of the aisle, Assembly candidates Tracy Riley and Chris Fifis are demanding to know why Addiego, a county freeholder, spear-headed the Indian Springs Country Club clubhouse project when she served on the Evesham Township Council. Fifis and Riley said the council took $750,000 out of the open space and recreation fund to pay for golf course operating expenses, citing a story in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
"Addiego’s golf course agenda has driven Evesham Township into deep debt, costing taxpayers a fortune," said Riley, a Mt. Laurel councilwoman. "I hope the taxpayers of Evesham hold her accountable during this election."
Apparently, the GOP vice presidential nominee -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- has come as a huge surprise to Democrats.

Yep, The Witch is in Form
For months and months all the dems have done is say how Riley is such a classy lady and that she would never stoop to any levels as the GOP, and yet this witch starts attacking Addiego and she does not have all the facts! Riley and Fifis are just as disgusting as they call the GOP. Funny, I STILL have not heard word one about a homeland security plan from Riley or any anti terrorist movement from her - could it be that Riley is trying to make the voters believe that her new pal Duka is a swell guy even though he tried to blow us up?? But oh no, Riley is going to be making bucks off of this case., Sorry, Riley and Fifis have no clue what they are talking about, and the more Haines goes after Bodine, the stronger Haines coatails gets. Bodine really thought he could get away with his little money making schemes but whoops, I guess he aint that smart!
More Cowbell Please !!
Puleeasse
The Bodine led team keeps beating a dead horse on this issue. Trying to create something out of nothing by associating Dawn with actions that occurred after she left council.
What I and most people find offensive is the ever-increasing information on all of the abuses Fran Bodine has made over the years. Going back to the 80's, 90's and through 2007, Bodine has used his office for personal gain. And it is not just Republicans revealing this - it was Gannett's articles on corruption that made most people aware of the Bodine abuses.
The Bodine "Reform" team says they want to end corruption and yet it is led by the most corrupt Assemblyman in the legislature. No-show jobs, lucrative pay-to-pay contracts, double-dipping pension scheme the list goes on.
The voters in the 8th are becoming more aware of this and Bodine will end his career either in jail or in disgrace.
Either way - I want my money back!!
