If Karrow is guilty, should she quit?

If Assemblywoman Marcia Karrow, facing assault and harassment charges in municipal court, is found guilty, will more righteous legislative colleagues demand that she resign?

The Hunterdon County Republican, seeking re-election to a second term in November, is charged with assaulting Raritan Committeewoman Chris Harcar at a phone bank in June.  The two were on opposite sides in the GOP Freeholder primary.

No Party can escape.

You live by your words and deeds. It is easy to call for someone's resignation in the other party, if fact it is good politics in these days, no trial, no presumption of innocence, just the accusation is enough. In the above case if Karrow is guilty, she should step down and give up her seat. No elected official, if they presume to have extraordinary talents to "rule us" through our chosen political system, should stand for that seat if they can not show that they are above the "bar room brawls". Not only do I want "Integrity" I want "self control" in the people that serve as elected officials. Ms. Karrow could have defused the situation by leaving the area or building where Ms. Harcar was but she did not and there by causing the argument to move from words to punches. Ms. Karrow showed the type of bad judgment in her "BAR ROOM" mentality that should at least cost her re-election to the Assembly, if not her resignation now.

Marsha's my idol.

Our state is filled with corrupt politicians, just look at the 11 last week who sold their souls. And should I say that they sold their souls for practically nothing. It is alleged that Marsha pushed someone around, SO WHAT. She is one of the most honest elected officials that I have every met and most that I've known fit the bill of last week's 11. Marsha's heart is with the people. Read our country's political history and you will see that it is filled with very public disagreements that turn physical. Should Marsha's have turned physical? No, we should try to settle our disagreements civilly. But should she resign? You've got to be kidding?!?! If she was a man, I would say she has b**ls and won't be pushed around, someone we need in Trenton. She has something that many need to have - a spine.

Might does not make right

even in a girl fight.  Of course she should step down if she is convicted.

She's also a dual office

She's also a dual office holder...

One of the four or five Republicans that still hold dual offices I believe...

I'm not sure about this case since it does not involve corruption, but she should step down from one of her elected positions.

Our Children Watch Us.

Mr. Atwater you may think Physical fighting among politicians of the same or opposite parties may be entertaining but our kids are told to look up to those in authority, is this what they should see? Schools in NJ preach literally zero tolerance to physical violence even by the   defender in a fight can be given school discipline. Do you think its a good idea to say to our kids you can't fight but the people who hold political offices can. I think there is a lot of "I AM BETTER THEN THE REST OF YOU, I CAN SAY DO WHAT I WANT" in her and I think our Representatives in Trenton should have both Dignity and Honesty . The headlines are fill of corruption in Trenton do we now need to add barbarism to it also.
