If Paul DiGaetano ran against Paul Sarlo, would that be a competitive race?

Anyone would have a chance against Sarlo

Paul Sarlo is the most overrated NJ legislator since Gabe Ambrosio. But like Ambrosio, he has people thinking he is "invincible" even though his favorables are only in the mid-teens. Actually Gabe had favorables in the mid-twenties when he lost so he might be the most overrated legislator since way before Gabe Ambrosio. The reason Sarlo went after Guarino's petitions are obvious -- thanks to EnCap, Sarlo's Gay Marriage support and votes for higher sales, income, corporate and gasoline taxes, even a 78 year old candidate with no money has a shot against Sarlo and his six figure warchest.

Todd

Even a Todd or a John Ginty might win against Sarlo.. Think about it

Ginty is a Joke

John Ginty is not a candidate, he's a ball-buster. He's a professional monkey wrench that enters GOP Primaries to destroy the frontrunner's credibility. He is to Bergen County Republicans as Harry Belafonte is to Condi Rice.

I sincerely hope that Michael Guarino will wage a successful write-in campaign. If Guarino decides not to and throws his support behind DiGaetano then I would be more than happy to see him enter the race.

Dino Shaftan, Your

Dino Shaftan,

Your comments about John Ginty are clearly a window to your character.

John Ginty is your friend and you stabbed him in the back. I guess thats how you change when you get in bed in with the likes of O'Toole. You even had me fooled.

Dino Shaftan???

Um, I don't know who you think I am but I am not Rick Shaftan, although I have been accused of being him here in the past and I am a huge fan of his as well as Steve Lonegan. I would love nothing more than to see Rick Shaftan run Mayor Lonegan's '09 Gubernatorial Campaign.

Having said that, I'm not a friend of Ginty, nor have I ever met him face to face. Furthermore, he has nobody to blame but himself for being a joke candidate and if Rick infact did withdraw his support from him, it was a very smart move on his part not to waste his time helping a loser who cares less about winning elections and more about wanting the other guy to lose, just like opponents of Mayor Lonegan in '03 which was very well documented in Anytown, USA which I highly reccomend to everybody here.

Furthermore, where was Guy's overflowing show of support for Ginty when he elected to put Tom Kean Jr. on the top of the BCRO ballot last year amid all of the infighting that was taking place at the time?

P.S., Thanks again for the compliment. I consider comparisons to Rick a tremendous honor.

RE: DINO SHAFTAN ???

Dino, I don't know who you really but you aren't Rick Shaftan. It was Shaftan and Lonegan who were instrumental in getting John Ginty into the US Senate race in the first place and it was RS who produced the radio ads that Ginty used in the campaign. As for this upcoming race, I think it has more to do with them backing O'Toole for Senate vs. Caliguire over pulling support from John for the assembly. John Ginty is very articulate and extremely intelligent. He proved that when he spanked liberal Steve Adubato during his solo appearance on the TV show.

"Dino, I don't know who you really but you aren't Rick Shaftan." Nor do I pretend to be. That accusation was made by one of your people.

As far as Ginty being intelligent and articulate, I don't doubt that he is. I never once questioned his intelligence at any point. However, if he really had the best intrest of the Republican Party in Bergen in mind, he would stop wasting everybody's time running in primaries that he has no chance of winning and become a behind the scenes contributor. The days of John Ginty the candidate died a long time ago.

It's time for him to step aside and stop being an attack dog for the Democrats.

Hey Networker!

Thanks a lot for you sarcastic suggestion of pitting John Ginty against Paul Sarlo in a poll about Paul DiGaetano! Do you see what you started!?;-)

DiGaetano

What makes anyone think Paul DiGaetano even wants to run against Sarlo? With all the deals being cut in South Bergen, it's hard to know whom to trust -- and while DiGaetano is a name a lot of people know -- can anyone say with certainty that he is really interested in Representing the Republican Party in a fight against Sarlo. Or is this another attempt to keep DiGaetano's name alive and thereby keep others from running against Sarlo -- who wants no competition. If DiGaetano wanted to run, he had plenty of time to do it.Why didn't he? And is Sarlo so afraid of Guarino that he is floating DiGaetano's name in hopes of keeping money from flowing to Guarino's campaign?

Hey Shaftan, don't blame

Hey Shaftan, don't blame Networker, you screwed over John Ginty on your own. Networker was not aware that Todd nor Ginty can run in Sarlow's district.

Thank you again for the compliment, Hank but I never take credit for other people's work so I must insist that you stop complimenting me.

And for what it's worth, the only one who ever screwed John Ginty was John Ginty.

GOP Incompetence

It's easy to see why District 36 was surrendered by the GOP without a fight. A Nutley, North Arlington, Lyndhurst, Rutherford, East Rutherford, Carlstadt coalition wins this election for the GOP. Passaic and Garfield won't come out and the rest of Sarlo's support is in communities with little organization and votes. This guy is a paper tiger and the GOP is made of paper mache. What a missed opportunity. If Guarino gets any help, this is a horse race. Time for O'Toole to start acting like he wants to gain the majority instead of piling on that joke Caliguire who will easily defeat with any effort.
