It's official

The Assembly Clerk has received resignations from Mims Hackett and Alfred Steele.

Democratic County Committee members in the 27th and 35th districts must hold a Special Election Convention within the next 7-35 days to fill the remaining four months of their current terms.  Additionally, Democrats must hold a Special Nominating Convention to replace them on the November general election ballot.

There's something perverse

There's something perverse about these guys being nailed by the same administration that is-- without recrimination-- funneling billions of dollars to friends and family in Iraq, rather than ensuring our troops have the tools they need.

your an idiot.

Way to try and change topics and issues there buddy.

Let's talk about Iraq and hope the focus is taken off how corrupt some New Jersey Legislators are.

I Hate Chris Christie!

He's a Republican attacking Democrats!

You'd rather see them there corrupting the people and taking bribes then out of office.

Do everyone a favor and shut up.

Christie Is A Hack

If Hackett and Steele did take bribes then they certainly should go to prison, no question. But does can anybody argue with a straight face that Christie is not already campaigning for Governor? His timing is constantly suspicious. And by no means are Dems the only ones with their hands in the cookie jar. Whatever happened to fair and balanced?

Christie has done more for NJ then most US Attorneys

I dont care what Christie is. He's doing a good job and frankly it's about time this state got cleaned up. I don't care if he's focusing on one party or another. These people are crooks and should be removed. I don't care if he wears a Chris Christie for Governor pin on his chest, he's doing much better than the leadership this state has at cleaning up the filth.

These people were caught in a sting operation, what did you want the sting operation to wait until after they got re-elected?

Everyone is so entrenched in their political idealogically swamps that they think everything is so partisan. God Forbid a US Attorney who was appointed by a Republican and who is a Republican takes out corrupt Democrats. Then it's all about partisanship and not about just doing a good job cleaning up the mess in this state. I don't care about timing. All I care about is a good job getting home today.

End of story.

The Assembly should be meeting this week..

To insitute REAL ethics reform including getting rid of that stupid grandfathering law in the dual office ban.

Chris Christie

Anyone who believes Chris Christie is to blame for the actions of Sharpe James, Wayne Bryant, Mims Hackett, Sammy Rivera or Al Steele need to have there head examined. All of these people are facing stiff charges with little hope of being acquitted. Why would any of them resign from anything if they were innocent? Only guilty people resign from office. Ask Larry Craig or Bob Torricelli why he got out of his race. I suggest if you believe Mr. Christie is some partisan boogeyman for the GOP, go post at www.bluejersey.com where reality and politics rarely go hand in hand.

How 'bout being an American?

I'm anti war, anti bush, pro abortion and anti NJ democ-rats who believe they are above the law and the people. I'm from "hip city" NJ (yeah right..developers central) where crooked lawyers, judges, and politicos reign in their fiefdom, for themselves, most of them "democrats". How do you like that? I'm sorry but I've been a democrat long enough to recognize imposters who profit in the guise of a party. Any party. This is not a party issue, it's a cronyism issue , it's about power and money. The democratic party is supposed to be the party of the PEOPLE, NOT the party of the rich and politically connected golf club putters. Have you ever tried to exercise your rights in a NJ court if you are not "connected"? GOOD LUCK!. Party of the poeple in NJ? what a joke. Chris Christie politically motivated? maybe some- doing the right thing - absolutely, republican- who cares. WAKE UP!

Southjerseyguy

He should have just called himself "Norcross Guy." Bottom-line - crooks are crooks regardless of party. Just so happens, in NJ, Dems have a sense of entitlement that seems to have no bounds.

Also, and maybe I am naive, but there are actual FBI agents, whose integrity crosses party line, investigating each of these cases. If Christie were doing it for purely political reasons, one of them would have blown the whistle.

Go Christie Go - regardless of party - get the bums out!

Good Job?

Is Christie doing a good job? If the only indictment he could come up with in Camden County is Wayne Bryant then it makes me wonder. Finding corrupt politicians in Camden County should be like shooting fish in a barrel. If he were really running for Governor, He'd have taken down the entire corrupt Norcross machine by now.
