Crowley will make a decision soon

Princeton biotech executive John Crowley, who had declined to run for Senate, is reconsidering and will make a decision soon, according to friend and advisor Bill Spadea.
“John is tremendously impressed by the outpouring of support and encouragement that has come from his colleagues, his friends and his family. People of all political beliefs have come forward to offer their good wishes for a potential U.S>Senate run, and they sense what a special opportunity a Crowley candidacy presents for the citizens for New Jersey,” said Spadea. “John and his family are considering this enormous well of support, and will be making a decision shortly.”
Crowley, whose name and life story generated intense interest in Republican circles, had declined to run on Monday morning. But Republicans, who saw him at the best shot for defeating incumbent Democrat Frank Lautenberg in the general election (or now possibly Lautenberg’s primary challenger, Rob Andrews), aggressively pushed to get Crowley to change his mind. Republican sources even said that prominent Republicans like John McCain and National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Ensign were tapped to call Crowley and ask him to reconsider.
Spadea wouldn’t confirm whether Crowley was contacted by a McCain. Instead, he said that support came from "not just folks in the party, but from folks outside of politics.”

Not another undecisive politico
Crowley's stocks definitely go down together with his undecisivness. Is that the business leader's characteristics? I thought he made up is mind about not running, earlier was considering running, now waffling again for the running. It sounds like a primadonna to me. Ask me more! Ask me more!
What happened to all these commitments cited in his earlier decision (undecision)? As I said earlier, his story sounds great and he made a smart move to wait it out until the next time. Spend more time with your family and fulfil your commitments.
On the other hand, I suggest that Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) runs for the US Senate from NJ. It would be fitting to GOP decisivness what to do and who to support. Lucky Andy "the bean" Unanue wants to drop out if Crowley gets in. I guess this ski vacation is too good to pass on. Happy skiing Andy. Maybe after the next slope, the US Senate race in NJ will be over?
How do...
any of these guys appeal to the voters that marginally piulled for Lautenberg in 2002 or Menendez in 2006? These voters care about the economy and only Murray with his message of really fixing fundamental economic issues that will refill the wallets of the average New Jerseyan has ANY credibility!

There is still hope!
Do the party leaders stand for anything?
If we have to continually ask millionaires (forrester, Estabrook, et al...remember Pete Dawkins?) to run for things, why should voters support us? Do we not have excellent Congressmen that the party leadership could have rallied around? Do we not have excellent state senators - including Pennacchio - that the party could have united behind?
And, by the way, has Dr. Sabrin ever apologized for running against the party in 1997? He has no "credibility" as the last poster said, until he honestly apologizes for '97.
Why Crowley???
the GOP is not looking long term...reason they are frantic is because the party is shrinking, cant raise sufficient money, lost its itegrity with the Bush administration.
the party should look at candidates at electability and can they grow the party base and bring back the traditions of the Republican party.
endorsing another wealthy, not politcally inclinded, passionate candidate will do nothing but ruin any chance for the Republicans to regain seats in NJ, or any where. Crowley appears to be a outstanding person, but a month ago he wasnt thinking..."I want to run for Senate because this country is at a cross-roads"...he basically got a phone call urging him to run for XYZ reasons.
this state and this country can not afford more senators, congressman, etc that get elected solely by the party machine. it is this BS that has gotton this country into so much trouble.
i am with Sabrin since he seems to the only candidate that got into this race because he was energized, inspired, done his homework on the issues, actually knows political history and economics and better yet, he is the only one sure of to live up to his oath of office...obey the Constituiton.
remember, this is a US Senate seat..it really is a big deal. Senators confirm supreme court judges, have greater veto power..etc. alot more than a congressman. it is critical we have someone representing NJ and the US in the People's best interest, not the party or the special interests.
Sabrin so far is the only candidate.

Forget the other guys. John Crowley is the only one that can defeat the Lautenberg / Andrew - Norcross machine.
