Irvington, Plainfield mayors back Lautenberg

Democratic mayors in Irvington and Plainfield have endorsed Frank Lautenberg for re-election to the U.S. Senate.

“Frank Lautenberg is a champion on the issues that matter most to us. Issues like health care, education, homeland security, transportation and the environment. I am proud to stand by his side in a primary,” said Wayne Smith, the Mayor of Irvington.

“Sen. Lautenberg is well respected and highly regarded in Plainfield . He has fought for our community and our neighborhoods for a long time and that is why I am proud to support him in a primary,” said Plainfield Mayor Sharon Robinson-Briggs.

Important but what about all of the new voters....

in NJ, the independents, who voted for Obama in February.  Who are they voting for?  I don't think these towns will turn out for Frank or Rob at the top of the ticket in a June primary unless something is going on in their respective towns.  This will be a low turnout event and frankly I don't care what any of these establishment players think or say.  Who's talking to the new voters?
