Sheila Oliver endorses Andrews

Rob Andrews today picked up the support of Assemblywoman Sheila Oliver (D-East Orange) for his Senate campaign.

Oliver, who represents parts of Essex and Passaic Counties, is one of a handful of northern legislators who have jumped on with Andrews since he decided to primary incumbent Frank Lautenberg last month.

Andrews is also backed by a few members of the Newark City Council, although Newark Mayor Cory Booker supports Lautenberg.

"It's time to elect someone with a new, fresh approach to the problems of the people of Essex County and New Jersey," Oliver said Oliver, who praised Andrews’s record on health care, housing and education.

Lautenberg has a split decision

in Newark. Nothing big about that. He hasn't enjoyed great outreach into the African American community for a long time. For example he has some crazy background music on his radio ad on Kiss -Fm, sounds like some Shaft music from the '70's over a funky lady's voice. I almost crashed my car driving from work tonight when I heard it. Very old school, pandering white liberal ad, Any black staffer would have told him to get a clue...He'll still win anyway by 10 points! Andrews can't make up the gap!

Don't "Andrews" me.

Sheila is a good assemblywoman. Let's hope the checks from SJ are in her account before the primary. Don't wait until July 10......promises, promises.

Hahah

R-East Orange? I know Pennacchio campaigned there but there were only 94 GOP primary votes cast in the city of 65,000 for President, versus about 12,500 Democrats!

Of course this was just a typo but it is pretty funny.

old and stupid

I guess everyone is as old and stupid as Lautenberg. Andrews is going to make some real changes. What has Frank accomplished in his LONG time as senate.
