Newark Councilwoman backs Andrews for Senate
By Max PizarroNewark Councilwoman Dana Rone today will officially endorse U.S.
Newark Councilwoman Dana Rone Rep. Rob Andrews for U.S. Senate.
Rone, who serves the Central Ward, joins North Ward Councilman Anibal Ramos and South Ward Councilman Oscar James II as those members of the Newark City Council backing Andrews.
Ramos was the first to announce his support for Andrews, at an Aspira event last month. James declared his support last week.
Rone ran with the Booker Team that swept out the old guard in 2006. Since then, and particulalry recently, she has regularly butted heads with the Booker.
The only other woman on the local governing body, Council President Mildred Crump supports Lautenberg.

" But things change fast. At the party convention four years ago in Boston, the same unity was expressed for Gov. Jim McGreevey’s reelection. A month later, he was history. So the ambitious are circling in Denver, keeping their eyes, and their options, open. They’re hosting parties, shaking hands, going out to lunch, playing golf. And there are two scenarios they are watching on the horizon.
Scenario No. 1 is that Corzine never runs next year because President Obama (who has already been elected, didn’t you hear?) asks him to join his Cabinet.

Less Than Surprising...
Councilwoman Rone has indeed been casted out of Camelot. Whether it is because she was not the rubber stamp the Mayor expected her to be or for her sheer incompetence, she is diserving of such an exile. This is a less than nuanced attempt at seeking shelter from the storm that is sure to come. Mayor Booker has already identified another candidate for her seat.
