McConnell and Ensign contribute to Estabrook

Less than an hour before state Sen. Joe Pennacchio is to formally announed his run for U.S. Senate, one of his likely primary opponents has trumpeted the support of two powerful out-of-state Republican Senators.

According to a press release from Anne Evans Estabrook’s campaign, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Ensign (R-NV) contributed $5,000 and $10,000 to her campaign, respectively.

“I am excited that people like Anne step forward and agree to run for public office. She is a business leader who knows how to get things done and to make a difference,” said Ensign in a statement. “This is a race we can win.”

Although it's NRSC policy not to officially endorse any candidate, Estabrook campaign manager Mark Duffy said that it shows that the party is coalescing around her.

“This is a strong tide of Republican support for Anne,” he said. “This support clearly shows Anne’s message of change, reform and fiscal responsibility is catching fire.”

John Randall, a spokesman for the NRSC, said the money came from Ensign's campaign fund, not the committee.

McConnell and Ensign make up a significant chunk of Estabrook's donors. So far, she's raised about $1.7 million - $1.6 million of which is her own.

Anne= exciting?

Listen to the woman speak.  Felt like I was at a funeral.  The RNC types only want people who can finance their own races.

RINO Stampede

In a symbolic showing of claas solidarity, the Counrty Club Rino GOP will no doubt come out for Ms. Estabrook.  She'll basically self-finance with some big buckaroos forcing the comparatively poorer challengers to scratch around in the bushes for contributions.

Dr. Sabrin has a good chance to raise enough money to challenge the RINOs Pick for the nomination.  Now if the rest of the GOP hit men will stop smearing him for no legitimate reason whatsoever and get on the wagon, we might actually have a Real Republican to vote for come November.

Amen

Amen to previous poster. It's time to rally around Dr. Sabrin and have a principled Republican run. He has traditional Republican stances on issues that are a breath of fresh air from the liberal Republicans, like Estabrook, we continue to run state-wide. If she gets the nomination, we are almost certain to lose unless she has some political Karl Rove's behind her, which right now, she does not.

She just needs some media coaching, she has the bucks

Look at Corzine before and after.  He barely looked at the camera when he first ran for office and though he is not super comfortable, he is pretty relaxed.  I've met her and she's a pleasant enough woman, plus she is self-financeable and though its counter-intuitive people give money to people who already have it.  Its like those freebies the stars get.

Ann

Met her at Middlesex straw poll last Saturday. She needs work. Mentioned AMT to her and she did not seem to understand the issue. In NJ it is, or shortly will be, a major issue.

"McConnell and Ensign make

"McConnell and Ensign make up a significant chunk of Estabrook's donors. So far, she's raised about $1.7 million - $1.6 million of which is her own"

100,000 dollars is not a significant chunk of anything when compared to Millions.

That being said Estabrook might get the lock step "follow the crowd" sheep RINO's, but thats about it.

Murray Sabrin has already tapped into the "new age" of Republican fund raising, and is listed on several "Ron Paul" type candidacy websites which will no doubt give his campaign national exposure amongst the "Ron Paul" Republican crowd, some of whom, have deep pockets.

I'd also expect that many of his supporters in the state will help his fundraising by donating small amounts of money, but when large volumes of people donate, its like snow, and blankets everything.  Just like Ron Paul can raise 6 Million dollars in a single day, without pandering to corporate interests or lobbying groups, Murray Sabrin will also have that advantage as many of his supporters will donate a 100 bucks here or there.

The times, they are a changing...
