More endorsements for Ortiz
By EditorBergen County Clerk Kathleen Donovan and former Assemblywoman Lisa Randall have endorsed attorney Robert Ortiz for Bergen County GOP Chairman.
Ortiz, a 35-year-old Republican fundraiser from Ridgewood, is running in a special election to succeed Guy Talarico, who resigned the day after the primary.
"We must be able to move forward with optimism for the
future and a vision to revitalize and strengthen the Bergen County Republican Organization with new initiatives for fundraising, candidate recruitment, inclusion, and building Party unity," Donovan and Randall wrote in a letter to County Committee members.
Ortiz has already won the backing of Assemblymen Kevin O'Toole and David Russo, and former Bergen County Executive Pat Schuber.

Ortiz is what the BCRO needs and a strong BCRO would help rebuild the fragmented GOP Go Ortiz!

I don't get it.
Why would anyone parade the Alan Marcus team as a political strategy to become Bergen County Chairman? Donovan and Randall? Give us a break. He would be better off having them endorse his opponents.
They represent the body and soul of the 2006 fiasco all over again. The BCRO has been eroding since Donovan and Randall allied with Marcus in 2006 which I referred to as "the march of the RINOs." Paying the rent is now a problem. If elected, Ortiz and his RINO herd will not improve anything at BCRO. They will probably be evicted for failure to pay the rent and have to meet in a Log Cabin.

By all reports, David Ortiz seems like a nice enough fellow. What is scary are the endorsements that he is getting - they are all coming from the Whitman wing of the party. It has to make any Bergen conservative wonder.
Define Bergen Conservative
Cause if you mean Republican Conscience, then I would say maybe 5 people are "Bergen Conservatives" including Talarico, Caliguire, Ginty, and that crazy man on the street yelling "Rino!" at everyone walking by. O wait, sorry that's just Joe.
Backwards..word to the wise
If we really want to get Bergen going again their must be room in the tent for everybody. Its time to reach out and give , $$$$, time and labor;otherwise we are back to Faction fighting again.

As long as my viewpoints are respected. I never started this whole faction thing, I respect the people who have the "traditionalist" conservative viewpoints, but they certainly don't respect the viewpoints of people like me who take a more independent and moderate stance on certain issues. Just because I could care less if two gay men or women want to get civil unioned doesn't mean I'm a "Rino". I'ts hard to be a team player when the other guy critizes everything about the team and is always bitter.
It would much easier if they could stop the split and just focus on the real goals like stopping the complete numbers game down in Trenton. Im sure Joe votes Republican and probably donates or whatever, but I'm going to defend people like Ortiz when he slams them for whatever reason.

By conservative, I do not necessarily mean only Lonegan supporters. How about anyone who supported Garrett over Russo in the primary a few years ago. Or someone who did not support Forrester in the primary.
Time for action
for those of us who were not invited to the show on Saturday
