Mercer County Democratic Chairman Richard McClellan issued a one-word response to suggestions that Seema Singh, who is the target of a state ethics investigation, drop her bid for State Senator in the 14th district:
"Nuts," McClellan said.
Richard Merkt, a GOP Assemblyman from Morris County, called for Singh to drop out last Friday following a Trenton Times story alleging that Singh may have broken state laws by allowing her Chief of Staff to collect her pension while still working. Merkt is a close friend of the Republican Senate candidate, Assemblyman Bill Baroni. Polls from both parties have Baroni running way ahead of Singh, the former state Ratepayer Counsel.

Go Rich!!!!!!!!!!
Rich, that is exactly what people in the GOP are, "NUTS!"
I agree
I agree with that statement only because she will get more votes if she drops out but her name stays on the ballot.
Singh's candidacy is a gift from God! If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
"The pacifist is as surely a traitor to his country and to humanity as is the most brutal wrongdoer." -Theodore Roosevelt
Cute
That was the response we gave to the German commander at the Battle of the Bulge when he demanded American surrender. I like McClellan's sense of style. Too bad there's no Patton to come riding in to save Singh's day.
Dino = Right
We've still got a month for her to screw up even more.
The funny thing is this won't stop Baroni from changing his style of ubber campaigning, frankly I think he'd be out there knocking on doors even if he didn't have an opponent. He's still got Assembly candidates to help, especially since that will be a close race.
Then again Baroni never stops knocking on doors, even in off years, he might be one of the few politicians in New Jersey that enjoy that, who knows why, but it works and damned if I ever run for office I'm gonna use the same strategy.
Nuts/GOP
Little Richie can say what he wants.Seema Singh is going to get beat because the Baroni Team is working 24/7 on the campaign and the Baroni volunteers are all working hard and are very professional. The Baroni staff is awesome and they are all playing their "A" game.
A question if I may...
"Clean elections should be about talking about differences ideologies and issues important to voters like property tax relief, stem cell research, education, and the War in Iraq.” - Seema Singh
Just one question for Ms. Singh and her campaign: Name one way the New Jersey Legislature can affect the decision making in the War In Iraq. (excluding a resolution since that was done already)
I am proud to volunteer for the Baroni Team and I couldn't be happier helping out an excellent campaign staff that are the nicest group of people I have ever met. I live in Monmouth County and I drive 45 minutes to Hamilton to help out because the Baroni campaign staff truly exemplifies a great team to work for. Bill, Tom, and Adam are outstanding individuals who are always incredibly thankful to their volunteers and are always reaching out to the people in the 14th. There is not one better team in this state than the Baroni Team.
Observation
When the boss tells the staff to go post good things about Baroni it generally means don't be totally blatant about who you are. Not that you aren't right that Baroni will win, but you don't have to toot your own horns.
One Problem with that...
Doesn't staff mean the people that are paid??? Because I can tell you how much money I've made from the Baroni Campaign, absolutely nothing. There's a pretty big difference between staff and volunteers.
Nobody tells me to post anything, I do everything on my own will. I'm not afraid of putting out who I am because I'm not a member of anyone's staff.
Baroni Goodwin & Bushman Keep Their Positions Secret
Assembly Member Bill Baroni, Goodwin & Bushman REPEATEDLY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY RESPONSES TO CITIZENS ON ISSUES THROUGH THE 2007 NATIONAL POLITICAL AWARENESS TEST WHEN ASKED TO DO SO BY Key national leaders of both major parties including: John McCain, Republican Senator Geraldine Ferraro, Former Democratic Congresswoman Michael Dukakis, Former Democratic Governor Bill Frenzel, Former Republican Congressman Richard Kimball, Project Vote Smart President Over 100 news organizations throughout the nation also urged their candidates to supply their issue positions through the National Political Awareness Test. Why is the Baroni team afraid to make their positions known in Project Vote Smart, because they don't want people to know their positions. ESedler: Ask Baroni Goodwin & Bushman why they are refusing to answer Project Vote Smart Please visit Vote Smart and see that the Baroni Team is Not Following the intent of "Clean Elections.' http://www.vote-smart.org/
That's right
