Food and Commercial Workers Endorse Lautenberg for Senate
Union Represents 18,000 Members Across New Jersey
United Food and Commercial Workers Local 464A today announced their endorsement of Senator Frank Lautenberg for re-election, citing his years of work in the United States Senate on behalf of working families and labor issues.
"Senator Frank Lautenberg's record of service on behalf of the working men and women of New Jersey is one that we would set as an example of achievement for all our elected leaders. UFCW Local 464A is not only prepared to support Senator Lautenberg's campaign by way of endorsement, but also by committing manpower and funds to help him get re-elected and continue the success he has truly earned," said UFCW Local 464A President John Niccollai, whose Union has 18,000 members across New Jersey. Niccollai also is a member of the New Jersey AFL-CIO Executive Board.
"I have always been proud to stand strong with our hard working families in the labor movement and across our state, so I am honored to have the support of UFCW Local 464A and its members. The Bush Administration has been no friend to labor, but these men and women know that they will always have a friend and ally in the United States Senate as long as I am there. I will keep fighting for your right to join a union, and will not stop until the Employee Free Choice Act becomes the Employee Free Choice Law. And I will keep fighting to make sure you receive the fair wages, affordable and accessible health care and the retirement security you earned," said Sen. Lautenberg.
To date, Sen. Lautenberg has been endorsed by more than 70,000 union members across New Jersey. The Senator has been endorsed by the Atlantic Council IFPTE, the Transport Workers Union of America, United Transportation Union, Amalgamated Lithographers of America Local One, and Communications Workers of America Locals 1039, 1032, 1031, 1037, 1089.
