State Sen. Joseph Pennacchio defeated businesswoman Anne Evans Estabrook to win the endorsement of the Hunterdon County Republican organization tonight. Pennacchio won 42-35, with Ramapo College Professor Murray Sabrin finishing third with 12 votes.
"I am proud to have the support of Hunterdon County's Republicans," Pennacchio said in a statement. "I know that they stand with me on the most important issues facing New Jersey and the nation.
"In the U.S. Senate, I will fight for lower taxes, support an effective defense against all of our nation's enemies, and work to grow and expand our economy. We must do everything we can to overcome the fiscal and economic challenges facing our state, and solve the affordability crisis that is crushing our hardworking middle class families."
In the race for the open 7th district congressional seat, State Sen. Leonard Lance scored an overwhelming victory. He won 68 votes, followed by Scotch Plains Mayor Martin Marks (7 votes), Warren Township Mayor Victor Sordillo (4 votes), former congressional aide Kate Whitman (2 votes) and former prosecutor/Iraq War veteran Tom Roughneen (1 vote).

DEE DEE DEE comes in 3rd
Kate Whitman's Mom, ex-Governor Christie Whitman, lives in Hunterdon County.
And Kate only got four votes at the Hunterdon convention? And she came in third place?
DEE DEE DEE!
Kate got 4th place
Read the above. Kate got 2 votes and finished 4th. If she hadn't been going around saying that she is more conservative than her mother she would have been blanked like Hatfield and the others. Watch out for Marks and Sordillo. If either (not both) is standing on primary day Lance will come up short again.
T.W.O. knows all about DEE DEE DEE
Can you even count? You go around calling Kate a retard and yet you can't count to 2 or 4. This is too good.
Way to go Jersey Joe!
Oops, my bad.
Let's try that again:
DEE DEE DEE comes in FOURTH
Kate Whitman's Mom, ex-Governor Christie Whitman, lives in Hunterdon County.
And Kate only got TWO votes at the Hunterdon convention? And she came in FOURTH place?
DEE DEE DEE!
Satisfied?
vote?
They vote on candidates they want to endorse? I don't think that has ever happened in Burlington County, sounds too much like democracy!
3rd place...
Hmmm Sabrin in 3rd place... I guess he turning out to be just like Ron Paul, a 3rd place man.
Not looking good for Kelly
She traveled all the to Flemington to get ZERO votes...ouch. I see that Kate got 2 votes...does she have family in Hunterdon County?
