Republican strategist Dan Gallic, who is running Joe Pennacchio’s campaign for U.S. Senate, was the subject of a Trentonian story that he posted a “racially charged version of the ant-and-the-grasshopper parable” political cartoon on a conservative website. Gallic is also the Robbinsville Economic Development Coordinator.
From the Trentonian:
In the original verson of the parable, an ant stockpiled food and fuel for winter, while a grasshopper danced away the summer, only to die in the snows that followed. Moral of the story: “Be responsible for yourself.”
In Gallic’s “modern version,” the shivering grasshopper in winter summons the media, which shows the ant at home warm and full of food. “Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing, ‘It’s Not Easy Being Green.’” Jesse Jackson demonstrates. Nancy Pelosi and John Kerry tell Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper. There’s a tax hike to make the ant pay his fair share.
“The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government,” the new blog continues. Hillary and Bill Clinton make sure the ant loses the case. The grasshopper eats the ant’s last food. The house crumbles. The ant disappears in the snow.
“The grasshopper is found dead in a drug-related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood,” the conservative version concludes. “Moral of the story: Be careful how you vote in 2008.”

What's racist about this? It's more true than anyone would like to admit.
You didn't miss anything
There is nothing racist. I think the story only points out the difference between liberalism and conservatism, and it makes no reference or comment about race.
And, by the way Wally, there's no mention of a "cartoon," there don't appear to have been any pictures involved.
Wally II?
Maybe I am reading too much between the lines, but I wonder if "Wally" is Wally II when I see posts like this. Could the changeovers in this website include a new author under the old pen name?
Same old Wally
This site has had a long-standing record of pointing out Dave Fried's outlandish shenanigans. Who knew he was publishing his own newspaper now, a la Bobby Jackson and the big advertising contracts Sharpe used to give to anti-Ledger upstarts?
With delusions of grandeur like primarying Bob Singer and by forcing local taxpayers to bankroll these two self-styled Charles Foster Kanes, it's only a matter of time before he gets his due.
Typical Trentonian
Only the Trentonian would publish useless dribble like this. There is absolutely nothing racist about this at all, but once again, bad press for Pennacchio at the hands of his staffers.
Interesting...
So Gallic has a cushy public job and posts irresponsible material on sites? Definitely an all-star campaign manager.
