The race for Bergen Freeholder
By Wally EdgeParamus Councilwoman Connie Wagner, easily re-elected to a second term on the Council last November, is among the candidates under consideration by the Bergen County Democratic Organization to run for one of two Freeholder seats this fall. Democrats are seeking two candidates: Democrat Valerie Vainieri Huttle, elected to the State Assembly in 2005, says she will complete her current term but not seek re-election to the Freeholder Board; the other incumbent is Elizabeth Randall, the only Republican on the Board of Freeholders. Last week, the Bergen County Republican Organization Executive Committee endorsed Randall and former Wyckoff Board of Education member Robert Yudin to run for the two Freeholder seats.

Why Yudin? Don't you all remember he got killed in 2004 and was considered a radical by many. I think they need someone from South Bergen to run.
The Democrats would be smart to run a Paramus candidate. I'd also reccomend Saddle Brook Mayor Lou D'Arminio as a candidate.

Bob Yudin only won the policy committee vote by 5 votes. He received 28 votes, Ridgefield Councilman Avery received 23, and Pauamus Council canidate Driscol got 7.
Avery still can be chosen by the county committee at the convention, not sure if he's going to stay in, but he would get my vote.
It's time for the Bergen GOP to bring in some fresh blood.
