David Russo had little trouble winning renomination to a tenth term in the State Assembly, even though he was dumped from the Bergen County Republican Organization line. Now some Republicans are suggesting that the Ridgewood attorney become the next Bergen County GOP Chairman.
The 53-year-old Russo, who served as Assembly Judiciary Committee Chairman when the GOP controlled the Assembly, ran on a slate with Kevin O'Toole for State Senate and Scott Rumana for Assembly.
Assuming the Republicans win in November, Russo as BCRO Chairman would make the 40th distict delegation quite interesting and unique: O'Toole is the Essex County Republican Chairman and Rumana is the County Chairman in Passaic.

Russo
He's quiet and unassuming, but he is a brilliant lawyer, a conciliatory politician and well liked on both sides of the aisle. Bottom line, Dave Russo is the complete opposite of Guy Talarico and actually has a brain and can bring folks together. Dave was there in the old days when the GOP actually meant something in Bergen County. I think putting his hat in the ring is well worth the effort of what is left of the Republicans in Bergen.
Russo is Not the Guy
I am sorry to say so but I do not think that David Russo will do anything to unite the two wings of the Republican Party in Bergen.
As for Guy Talarico, certainly the Bergen GOP has not fared well under him but it probably has been largely due to circumstances beyond his control. Being GOP Chair in Bergen County is a thankless task these days.
RUSSO GOOD CHOICE
Russo would be a good Chairman at this point in time, we never will be able to get the factions together but Dave has a willingness to sit down and discuss things. Dave throughout this whole ordeal showed leadership - at meetings he kept his composure, was much nicer to Guy than anyone probably would have expected. He in a quiet and calm tone told Guy, he was going to lose – they’d raise money, they’d win and it was a waste to challenge them - but whatever, Guy was going to do what Guy was going to do. Right now we need someone who is respected, can raise money and just get a dialogue going without being vindictive and putting smut material out. PS - Anyword on Guys resignation?
Dave is the MAN
We need to get the GOP back in Bergen and Dave would be a great choice. Guy has did a horrible job in alienating the party the factions. It's been one disaster after another in Bergen GOP land.
Draft Vince Micco for BCRO Chairman NOW!!!!!!
Without a doubt, the person that can bring all sides and faction's including RED is Vince Micco. Vince are you ready to lead??????? Many of us are tied of the infighting from both BCRO & BCRI that still broods hate and hostility, The wounds from last year are still alive and well. We need to come together as party and fight the Democrats not each other. GUY Talarico for the good of the party, you have to resign NOW!!!!
Vince are you listening??? do you see this post???? The flag is down, and needs to be picked up by a soldier who is interested in the good of the party and not his own ego. You are that soldier. NOW LEAD!!!!!!!!!
LETS PICK A WINNER
WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A CHAIRMAN WHO HAS WON ELECTIONS AND COULD RAISE MONEY - WHERE WAS MICCO WHEN THE RED FACTION AND BCRO FINANCE CHAIR WAS RESIGNING BECAUSE OF GUY? IF PEOPLE WANT JOE CARUSO (A GOOD GUY) TO BE INVOLVED LETS GET HIS INPUT ON 3 PROSPECTIVE NAMES HE WOULD BE WILLING TO WORK WITH IN RUNNING AND RAISING MONEY FOR BCRO.
BlackandBlueJersey
What are you smoking?
Russo has been targeted in his last 3 elections because he was the inspiration for the creation of the term RINO. He's in the image of Whitman and she did more harm to our party than the entire Democrat Party.
Being a conciliatory politician is not positive it only means you're willing to do whatever it takes to make a deal. The point is to know what is right and do it.
Vince Micco would be great. He knows what is right and he can be trusted to do it.
Wally Edge
Anyone who would take any suggestion from Wally concerning advice to Republicans might actually think Wally is neutral. This site is owned by members of Ferriero's Law Firm.

Do you have proof that this site is owned Ferriero' henchmen?

No proof. Received it from
No proof. Received it from a person in the position to know and without a reason to make it up.
Additionally, I have commented on it several times before. It is a good site, just know that it is not on our side.
Look at who advertises on this site and you can see which way it leans.

Conflict of interests
I supported the O'Toole ticket aggressively, but all the while remaining critical of the unfortunate fact that Passaic and Essex both have elected officials as party chairs. So we certainly don't need to add a 3rd conflict of interest into the mix.
And to "Republican Conscience" - I don't think it's relevant which "side" Wally Edge is on. US Weekly editors don't care whether Al Gore becomes the next President, but their readers love the speculation on what his weight-loss goals indicate about his political aspirations.
