CODEY STATEMENT ON THE RETIREMENT OF SENATE MAJORITY LEADER KENNYÂ
TRENTON  –  Senate President Richard J. Codey today released the following statement on the decision by Senate Majority Leader Bernard F. Kenny, Jr. not to seek re-election:
“The state is losing a great legislator, I’m losing a good friend, and the 33rd district is losing a fighter, without question. Bernie Kenny has never been one to back down from what he believes is right, and he has used that tenacity to fight for the needs of his district.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working side-by-side with him in the Senate for almost 15 years now. His presence will be missed on the Senate floor, in the caucus room, and wherever there is a good debate to be had.
“At this juncture in his life, I wish him only the best.â€?Â
