Sex offender working for Cunningham

New Jersey Department of Corrections PhotoThe Jersey Journal is reporting that a convicted sex offender is working on Sandra Bolden Cunningham's State Senate campaign. Russell Wallace, convicted of assaulting a 13-year-old girl, is a volunteer. Cunningham's spokesman says he knew there was a registered sex offender on their team and defended the campaign's actions.
From The Journal:
Wallace, a registered sex offender, entered into Jersey City's Second Chance Program, which was created by Bolden Cunningham's late husband, Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham. Bolden Cunningham remains a vocal supporter of the program, and Wallace wanted to show his gratitude by joining the campaign, according to Roger Jones, a spokesman for Bolden Cunningham.
"The goal is to provide work for people who made mistakes when they were young," said Jones.
When told that Wallace was 37 when the assault took place, Jones replied, "Well, he still has long life ahead of him."

The media should be more responsible before following desperate leaks of slander. The mere fact that many men and woman have been wrongfully convicted and have even been kill is a fact. The fact is he was PROVEN INOCENT ON APEALS after he did time for a crime he did not do. The F A C T is the system always makes MISTAKE. Thank God and Cunningham for standing by THE PEOPLE.

Looks like you'll need to post some evidence of this claim, that he was proven innocent on appeal. It is inconceivable--and most certainly unconstitutional--for someone adjudged not guilty to nevertheless have to register as a sex offender. As a matter of fact (and I suspect you know this!) what is on the record indicates what you've written is ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE. He was never adjudged not guilty, although a second trial was ordered. In that second jury trial Wallace was AGAIN FOUND GUILTY. He served 4 years and was released on parole. Wallace was guilty, is a paroled felon and registered sex offender. He was never adjudged not guilty of this horrific crime. I'm not sure what your agenda is, jcrocks, but it would be better served by telling the truth than hoping lies will serve to prove a point. Shame on you! And, again, shame on Cunningham!!!

The word is that there is more than just a campaign/candidate relationship between WALLACE and BOLDEN-CUNNINGHAM. The press should be asking who vouched for his job and gave it to him - GLENN CUNNINGHAM had past on in 2005, when this child molester was hired. HEALY was the Mayor. The press should also ask if WALLACE and BOLDEN-CUNNINGHAM are seeing each other. I live in Society Hill where BOLDEN-CUNNINGHAM does - the guy in the picture is always driving her in and out.

Sex offender works on campaign
Anyone can volunteer for the campaign but for Sandra Cunningham to knowingly keep a registered sex offender working on the campaign shows a total lack of responsibility and credibility. Are there any young girls working on the campaign. Are they safe with this pervert around. People should thiink twice before voting for Sandra Cunningham. Her judgement is suspect.

Mrs. Cunningham is a candidate backed up110% by HCDO. Such a candidate has shown to be illiterate to fill up an application, refuses to come out on a debate, she’s using her husbands name for votes, she has no experience as a legislator and now it has been discovered she has criminals working for her. What Wallace did was no MISTAKE it was and still is a CRIME. Electing Cunningham will be the MISTAKE!!! SHAME ON HER!!!

Okay so we have the "reform" Democrat Sandra-Bolden Cunningham not knowing how to file papers for a Democratic primary after years in public life, and now she hires a convicted sex offender after a decade and a half of NJ leading the way in eradicating these horrors with Megan's Law. Enough is Enough. Lou Manzo has done an outstanding job for the 31st and is the only one in the Democratic Party (heck in the state)with the courage to stand up to Jon Cor$ines war on the working class! Sandra Cunningham will be another yes vote for the Cor$ine bankruptcy agenda!

A youthful mistake might be graffiti etc not this type of crime. Over in my county sex offenders with no place to go live in trailers on county jail property yet can come and go anytime they want but have a specific time they have to be home by. Residents hate it but there's no place else for them to be right now. I say legalize prostitution like it was in the 1800 so these guys can call up some female escorts whenever they need.
