Who wins the award for the most inane attack of the week? It's a close contest between Dana Wefer and Gina Genovese.
Wefer, viewed as a rising star for her two thoughtful, issue-oriented, savvy campaigns for Morris County Freeholder in 2005 and 2006, is now challenging six-term Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll in the heavily Republican 25th district. This week, she attacked Carroll for sponsoring the least number of bills in the Legislature -- something that has little substance, considering the wide variety of inane legislation proposed each year. Carroll, a small-government guy who thinks his colleagues pass too many laws, wore the designation as a badge of honor.
Genovese attacked Republican State Senator Thomas Kean, Jr. for taking money from Larry Craig's political action committee during his 2006 U.S. Senate campaign. Genovese's statement got a little dramatic: "Kean Jr.’s Senate campaign has been funded by donations from the political action committees of Halliburton and a senator who pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in an airport men’s room."

Asking where money comes from is inane?
Since when did taking dollars from Halliburton become ok? I guess since George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are such reformers, it's ok for NJ's GOP reformer to take some campaign cash from their darling corporation! Kean Jr. claims to be part of some "Honest and Effective Leadership." Nothing can be more effective for NJ then having our sweetheart reformer playing both sides of the card. Let's go Kean Jr, doing his part to have NJ get sucked into the Bush/Cheney machine.
Wally You're a Funny Guy....
....."insane" is hyberbolic language given that we're in a truly insane war that has KILLED at least half a million innocent civillians and made refugees of two million.
If Craig were a Dem and was this kind of lying hypocritical ethically challenged arse do you think Republicans wouldn't make political hay of it???
As for Carrol; why is someone who doesn't believe in government or that it can do any good keep running for office?
And I'll bet you dollars to donuts that Carroll votes with big business/big money interests more often than not.
Why don't you try (or one of your reporters since you're pledged to remain safely anonymous) actually interviewing Dana and letting her fill you in on where she stands on any number of issues?
Better yet, I'll volunteer to video the interview and to put it up for all to see.
Come on Wally, make my day! I'm sure you still have enough clout there to have a reporter do an interview.
Hell, that's the least you can do to make up for, in effect, calling Dana Wefer insane!
