Summit - Today, Dr. P Kelly Hatfield, Republican candidate for Congress representing New Jersey’s Seventh Congressional District released the following statements on issues concerning New Jersey residents:

  • “The most important issue facing our nation is our national security; I will work to ensure that our country, our families and our Troops are safe at home and abroad.”

  • “Having signed the Americans for Tax Reform no new taxes pledge I believe that our government must practice fiscal responsibility and our families to keep more of the money that they earn also our tax system must be clearer, simpler and fairer.“

  • “Government overspending has led to deficits and an increasing national debt; I believe that if families and towns have to balance their budget, so should congress. Also, a 3/5 supermajority vote requirement for any new taxes will make it harder for Congress to raise taxes.”

  • “Supporting a pro-growth tax policy rewards rather than penalizes productivity; we must create a long range incentive plan to keep jobs from going overseas and out of state including cutting the corporate tax rate and investing in math and science education to prepare our students to compete in a global market.”

  • “Improvements are needed in the accessibility cost and delivery of health care in the United States. Only when health insurers have to compete for customers in the free market will they provide the highest quality service and the most affordable care.”

  • “Immigrants founded and built this great nation, but the problem today is that illegal immigration is putting stress on our hospitals, schools and national security, we must secure our borders both physically and with technology to stop illegal entry. Anyone who wants to come to this county should have to follow our laws.”
