Supporters of Democratic Assembly candidate Nicholas Chiavaralotti like the numbers in Bayonne, which look significantly higher than what they see in Ward F. Chiavaralotti campaign staffers expect a turnout of over 5,000 in Bayonne, where Louis Manzo’s ticket must score a strong plurality to overcome the Hudson County Democratic Organization’s strength in Jersey City’s Ward F.
Secure in the belief that they need good turnout in Bayonne to win, Manzo's people were jubilant. Cunningham spokesman Dominic Santana said, "It ain't over till the fat lady sings."
Bayonne Councilman Tony Chiappone, meanwhile, was campaigning furiously in front of a Ward 2 supermarket.
Manzo's campaigns says they're not worried about Chiappone pulling large numbers of votes because much of his base consists of Republican and Independent voters.

GREAT JOB CHIAPPONE
He held the fort in Bayonne and prevented Manzo and company from mounting a huge plurality. Chiaravalotti is sent packing his bags to move back in with Menendez. Doria may take that DCA job from Corzine even quicker now!
LESSON LEARNED-
You don't celebrate at 5pm. You WAIT for the results to come in, and then, if you win- you celebrate! Way to go Tony!!!!
