ALLEN LETTER DIRECTS COOPERATION IN CORRUPTION PROBE
ALLEN LETTER DIRECTS COOPERATION IN CORRUPTION PROBE
Senator Diane Allen issued this letter today –
2/13/07
Hon. Herbert S. Friend, Acting Chairman
Joint Legislative Committee on Ethical Standards
Dear Honorable Judge Friend,
The purpose of my letter is to encourage the Joint Legislative Committee on Ethical Standards to cooperate and support the U.S. Attorney's federal investigation into questionable financial activities. If attorney client privilege exists, I waive that right in this matter. U.S Attorney Chris Christie has requested documents and the Office of Legislative Services needs to provide his office with the requested information. The cost of this legal battle is falling on the taxpayers and they should be as outraged as I am that tax dollars are being used to hide potential ethical or criminal misdoings.
I would hope that there is no wrong doing. But if there is, we need to stop it immediately and close the loop holes that make the misuse of taxpayer dollars possible. How can we continue to ask for the public’s trust if we do not give the US Attorney full cooperation?
Sincerely,
Diane Allen
