“Bureaucratic bungling has delayed justice for these homeowners for more than a year, Asselta stated. “I expect the Senate to pass this bill on Thursday and I hope that Governor Codey signs it in time for Christmas. After all the delays these homeowners deserve a little Christmas cheer.
The measure would require the State of New Jersey to convey all interest in parcels of real estate with disputed titles located on 47th Street in Sea Isle City, Cape May County to the homeowners. In return, the State would receive property from the City of Sea Isle to replace the property with the disputed titles.
“This land swap is fair and reasonable and serves the interests of all the parties involved, Asselta said. “I would hope that the Legislature also considers my bill that would compensate the homeowners for their legal fees and for any loss in their property values.
