The family of Sen. Kenny authorized the following statement on his condition.
Sen. Kenny is listed in fair condition at Jersey City Medical Center and is presently in the surgical intensive care unit of the hospital awaiting a medical decision on whether he needs surgery to stabilize a broken right fibula. Sen. Kenny also has four fractures in his pelvis, a fractured nose, and suffered a dislocated right shoulder. Sen. Kenny presented with numerous lacerations and contusions about his head and face. He has been medicated to treat his pain and is resting comfortably. While his medical condition is evaluated, the family asks that the media respect the privacy of the senator and his family. They appreciate the public’s concern for Sen. Kenny’s health and the best wishes they have received for his speedy recovery.
