Deputy Speaker Alfred Steele is expected to resign his seat in the New Jersey State Assembly on Monday, four days after FBI agents arrested him on bribery charges. Another Assemblyman Mims Hackett, indicated his intent to resign late Friday night.
Steele has stepped down as Passaic County Undersheriff, and Sheriff Gerald Speziale has not said if he would fire him.

Who are Steele's Replacements?
Not in any order... 1) Freeholder Elease Evans: Probably the most prominent African-American leader in the 35th, but does this mean she would have to resign as Freeholder, and if not by law, would County Chair John Currie continue his opposition to dual officeholding in terms of applying it to her? Also Senator Girgenti should be a little nervous to have someone as well-known and ambitious in the Assembly as Evans. 2) Domenick Stampone: Haledon has rarely gotten a voice in a larger body, and this mayor has ambitions. Yet would the elevation put him too high in the race to succeed Bill Pascrell for others who want the seat? 3) Joseph Wojtecki: The second-most prominent Democrat in Hawthorne, he would be a good candidate with his strong run for Mayor and Arab heritage, but can the 35th have two Hawthorne people? 4)Khaled Barouk: He ran for Mayor in Prospect Park in 2006 as a 21-yr old investment banker. Could he be elevated in the future of the Passaic Democratic Party? 5) Larry Spagnola: The former police chief of Paterson with ties to Totowa would definitely make Trenton more interesting, and be a sign to Joey Torres that his days are numbered. But is he what they are looking for? 6) Kenneth Morris: This Paterson councilman and 2001 Freeholder candidate has been waiting to move up for years, but maybe there is a reason he hasnt?
Pistol Packin' Rev
For those who are unaware, Rev. Alfred "I take bribes and sing with the choir at my church" Steele was also earning an annual salary of $90,000 as an Undersherriff.
When you're poor, you're a thief. When you're rich, you're a kleptomaniac.
I also received word from one of my sources that Dino's Forum has been blocked from all computers in Paterson public schools. I suppose that this was after my thorough and in depth reporting of the situation that was brewing dating back to June.
As dirty as these people are, I don't even think we know the half of it yet.
"I'd rather be a conservative nutjob than a liberal with no nuts and no job."
A real shame
This is such a shame. At his core, I think Rev. Steele is a good man who got caught up in a bad culture.
Klepto Rev.
Apparently, the Klepto Rev. had the nerve to preach at his church yesterday.
I wonder if he will ask for more money when the collection plate goes around every Sunday since he can't take bribes anymore.
"I'd rather be a conservative nutjob than a liberal with no nuts and no job."
Bad culture?
No...he's a bad person.
