Stender tries to pin Ferguson down

Ah, the release of an internal poll.....one of the hallmarks of a desperate campaign.

Linda Stender is a Spender! The most memorable tag-line of this campaign cycle.....

Ferguson should have never aired all of those "Linda Stender is Spender" ads. This actually provided her with more mane recognition and could actually steer some votes away from him. Either way, due to this anti-GOP year, he will probably not do as well as usual. And when I say not as well, I'm thinking about 57 or 58%.

As for this most recent e-mail piece...I think the Foley-Ferguson connection here is very vague.

Shore Guy - I originally thought that as well, but as long as the name is recalled in a negative connotation, it's probably a good thing.

Mike will probably not win by 16-17% as last election, but I do still expect him to win by double-digits.

What misguided mental midgets like mojo fail to understand is that it is because of perverts like Mark Foley that Republicans are Republicans in the first place! We believe in smaller government because the government is extremely imperfect and should not be all encompassing and have more power than it was designed to have by our founders.

Unlike Democrats who not only keep people like Barney Frank, Ted Kennedy and Bob Menendez in their party but put them on a pedestal, Republicans have much higher standards.

Dino, you are a creepy pig. That is why you cannot see why this mailer will be effective. Because to you sexual harassment is no big deal. But to female swing voters in suburabn NJ, it is a big deal. The mailer highlights Ferguson's pathetic behavior in the midst of a national feeding frenzy on the Foley's pedopheliac stalker bahavior. While the 2 are not exactly the same, it shows that Ferguson and the rest of the Republicans are all talk on thier moral superiority BS.

That fact that your party is hanging its hopes on falsified - YES I WROTE IT - falsified e-mails and illicit IMs between a homosexual congressman and a former page who was of age shows just how pathetic your party is. We do need to investigate this matter fully. What did Rahm Emmanuel know and when did he know it? Sitting on falsified documents with a plan to release them ten days before an election isn't caring about children it is a plan to steal an election. Your party had to pull the trigger earlier than expected because GWB's and GOP congressional numbers were starting to rise as regular Americans began to focus on election day but that is besides the fact.

Understand one thing. Kean may or may not win here in NJ, but the GOP will not lose control of either House. Period. Deal with it and get used to it. This is the left's last gasp effort at control. You and your party just too close to your demise, and too driven by irrational hatred to see it.

At the end of the day the future in this country belongs to conservatives for one simple reason if nothing else -- People who are pro-life tend to have children, who in turn happen to have more children this cycle tends to repeat itself. People who believe in abortion tend to exercise that option and ... And this has nothing to do with the legality of abortion. IT is just a fact. Deal with it.

On a closing note and back to Dino's defense ... I have always been amazed by the fact that women who could NEVER get laid in the first place are always the ones screaming the loudest at these pro-abortion rallies. Why is that? Do they want to advertise to the world that they are sexually active? Do they think anyone would care? Remember this feminism was invented so that ugly women could gain easier access to mainstream society.

First off there's a big ol' wave a commin'. This year its going to be a Democratic Wave and folks like Mike Ferguson won't even see it a commin' until it is upon them. Mike's gonna' wake up on Nov. 8 scratching his head and saying "geez, what happened".

Now about that Stender mailer. I'd give it a B-. It's way too wordy and it isn't compelling. I would have said something like, "Imagine your daughter being hit on by a maried congressman..." The story seems credible to me. Could have been presented better though. It can't hurt her.

And about that silly new Kean Commercial. Dino you have got to be kidding. That silly send up is a complete waste of money. The audio is terrible, the repetion only belies the fact that there's nothing there. Donald looks like Barney Rubble instead of some sinister character. The writing is too fast, too much and unclear.

And is it just me or does anyone else believe that Tommy, Jr. is really Andy Kaufmann come back from the dead.

I don't care who performs these type of "antics", a Republican, Democrat, independent, Stender or Kean...bringing up things from three years ago that appeared in a GOSSIP column noless and trying to 1) portray it as an actual factual story and 2)link it somehow to the Foley scandal (which is quite disgusting and disturbing...) just proved to me that Stender doesn't have a leg to stand on in this race/election.

Not only did she lose votes today (about 20 or so), but more than likely our husbands votes as well (40-50+ votes). Too bad for her! Maybe she should rethink her campaigning tactics...

Ferguson is a piece of garbage...and I think that even the GOP stalwarts on this page know it.

Let's remember...Tom Kean Jr should be running for re-election to Congress right now, and if not for Fergie's shenanigans he'd have a long, prosperous career in the lower house.

The funniest thing about New Jersey politics is that everyone knows who is going to win (Ferguson), and yet people resort to name calling, gender bashing, and pure diarrea-of-the-mouth. As a staunch democrat I would simply like to say that if we are going to keep up with the rubbish coming from republicans in a race that they will win anyway, we might-as-well call them pedophiles as DINO has decided the likes of our party members are devoid of values. Oh yea, and Dino and Rockerfeller, if you think that House and Senate don't have a chance of falling into Democratic control you're not only pedophiles, but seriously diluded.

Thank you for confirming that my 5 year old nieces and nephews are more matyre than most of the posters here. Can't wait til the next person gets called a poopyhead. That is where this is going. And mother jokes?? Come on.

Here's one to ponder over (and to maybe stop the personal attacks...): What if the redistricting in '01-'02 on the Congressional level had NOT been a "let's make all incumbents safer" session. I remember at the time, a lot of Republicans grumbled that the powers that be were wasting an opportunity by reinforcing the lean of the 7th. They thought the Ferguson/Holt town swaps were giving extra Republican votes to an area that didn't need it, and giving up on the razor-thin Holt margin of 2000. As it turns out, Holt would almost surely have survived in '02 even in the old 12th, as would Ferguson in the old 7th. But this year, I think Stender's chances would be closer to 50-50 (maybe better) if Rep. Ferguson was competing in the old 7th (his margin was not huge in 2000). Bottom line, the Republicans (like me) who were upset that we gave up on a 12th district we probably wouldn't win anyway should now be happy. Ferguson is probably going to need Hunterdon more than ever. We were optimistic and wanted 7R 6D...didn't realize that the 6R 7D could more easily become 5R 8D. Now 6R looks pretty good for the next 5 years. Better than the 2R I have down here in MD.
