(Ewing – November 3, 2007) With three days until Election Day, 15th District Republican State Senate candidate Bob Martin called Shirley Turner's plan to put state police on the streets of Trenton a desperate attempt to cover up her 14 years of failing to address the issue. Martin reiterated his call for a comprehensive plan to combat gang violence with "zero-tolerance" for all crimes and more local police on the streets.

Turner recently placed an ad in the Princeton Town Topics claiming that she is against the sale or lease of the toll roads, but her voting record clearly states just the opposite.

After countless changes in date and location, it appears that Turner has no intention of following up on her agreement to debate the issues in front of the voters.

This plan is being introduced as New Jersey once again has the distinction of having the highest property taxes in the nation. Recent reports indicate that high property taxes have contributed to the net loss of over 230,000 residents in the past five years.

Martin stated, “When elected, I will introduce legislation to limit State Senators to 3 terms and Members of the State Assembly to 5 terms. This would require that legislators could not serve longer than 10 years before being required to leave office.”

Ewing (September 25, 2007) – Bob Martin, Republican State Senate candidate in the 15th district, has called on Senator Shirley Turner to join him in calling for a Constitutional Amendment to abolish the practice of "Senatorial Courtesy." Senatorial Courtesy is the unwritten and informal tradition of the State Senate that permits a senator to block, without explanation, the consideration of a Governor's nomination for cabinet officers, judgeships, and other key state government positions of any individual residing in the senator's district or county.
