Measures Would Assist With Independent Living for Adults with Autism;  Create Office for Autism Services; Establish Emergency ID Card for Autistic Residents

(TRENTON) - The Assembly today passed five measures that are part of the second wave of legislation aimed at enhancing support for autistic adults, streamlining autism-related services, and improving the delivery of health care for autistic residents.

(TRENTON) - The Assembly Military and Veterans' Affairs Committee today released two measures Assemblymen Neil Cohen, Patrick Diegnan and Vincent Prieto sponsored to augment benefits for surviving family members of New Jersey National Guard members killed while on active duty.

(TRENTON) -- Legislation sponsored by Assembly members Herb Conaway, Jr., MD, Vincent Prieto, Gary Schaer and Joan Voss sponsored to protect patients and health care workers from injuries caused by unsafe patient handling at hospitals and nursing homes was signed into law today by Governor Jon S. Corzine.
