Ramsey - Independent Congressional Candidate R. Matthew Fretz released the following statement regarding the report released today from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

"The economy is stagnant at best. A refusal by Congress to deal with exploding gas and healthcare prices has effectively kneecapped the economy. Giving tax incentives to businesses to move jobs to India, South Korea and Taiwan threatens every American worker. A Congressman patting themselves on the back for wages trailing almost two and a half percent behind the cost of living in our area shows a complete ignorance to the plight of working men and women. Congress must take off the blinders, stop pushing nonsense legislation, and get to work fixing these very real problems now."

Fretz on Private Travel

For Immediate Release

July 31, 2006

Contact: R. Matthew Fretz - rmfretz@rmfretz.com

Ramsey - Independent Congressional Candidate R. Matthew Fretz released the following statement regarding private travel by members of the House of Representatives and their aides.

"There must be a ban on this activity. If special interest and foreign peddlers of influence want to talk to legislators, they know where to find them. In order to prevent further abuses, the House must adopt an independent review process. This is the only solution, since the House is unwilling to discipline or regulate themselves."

Fretz on DHS Waste Report

For Immediate Release
July 27, 2006

Contact: R. Matthew Fretz - rmfretz@rmfretz.com

Ramsey, NJ - Independent Congressional Candidate R. Matthew Fretz released the following statement regarding the House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform report "Waste, Abuse, and Mismanagement in Department of Homeland Security Contracts."

"Where's the fiscal responsibility in a 739% explosion of "no bid" contracts? This is the latest example of taxpayers being ripped off. As one of the congressional districts contributing the most in tax dollars, we're also one of the districts being ripped off the worst. We as taxpayers must demand an end to no bid contracts, and a Representative with the moral fortitude to stand up and wage the war to eliminate them. I am that candidate for the Fifth."
