Beck Urges Codey to Exercise Leadership and Ask Senators Under Investigation Not to Vote

Says the Integrity of the Senate is at Stake

State Senator-elect Jennifer Beck today sent a letter to Senate President Richard Codey urging him to show true leadership and ask those members of the Senate that are under investigation or indictment to forgo voting in the up-coming session of the Senate.

“A real Boy Scout doesn’t just dismiss inquiries into unlawful or unethical conduct. I think it’s time Mr. Gordon turned in his Boy Scout uniform and tells us what he knows. “

We have never heard Assemblyman Gordon deny he knew Coniglio was employed by hospital at the time the grants were issued. In fact, Mr. Gordon has said almost nothing about this corruption probe. I think it’s time he told us what he knows.” 

“Why did Bob Gordon fail to publicly call for Sen. Coniglio to step down after he was named a target in a federal corruption investigation. Where was his outrage? Where was his courage to stand up for the taxpayer? He was MIA.”

Bergen County, NJ - District 38 Republican Assembly candidates John Driscoll and Rene Czarnecki are calling on their opponents to admonish the actions of their running mate, State Senator Joseph Coniglio, who is the target of a federal investigation for allegedly steering money from the state budget to Hackensack University Medical Center in exchange for a $5,500 a month “consulting” job.

“The real indictment of Sen. Coniglio is that he has supported every spending increase initiative that has been put before him in Trenton. He is a puppet for the leadership of his party, which has put New Jersey into a financial crisis,” 

I have seen Sen. Coniglio on the campaign trail as recently as Saturday, so I assume he is committed to staying in the race and defending his record on raising taxes and protecting developers and illegal aliens”

The Record editor asks a pertinent question. What is the NJEA endorsement reall worth, when the leadership is endorsing Sen. Coniglio, who is the target of a federal investigation?  What is the teachers' union real agenda? It's not the taxpayers.
