N.J. Edwards supporter applauds continuation of '08 bid

Assemblyman Michael Panter said today that he supports John Edwards' decision to remain in the presidential race.  "I know family comes first for Senator Edwards.  Elizabeth is an inspiration as she faces her private health issues in such a public way – with dignity and strength," said Panter.

"He left the campaign trail to be with her, but she told him the campaign is about more than just their family – it’s about millions of families who share John’s vision for our country," Panter said.  "We extend our support and prayers to the Edwards family."

WEST ORANGE – Senate President Richard J. Codey (D-Essex) today released the following statement on Senator John Edwards’ announcement that he will be ending his bid for the White House:

“As a lifelong public servant, John Edwards helped our nation focus again on who matters - the child without a home, those without jobs, the families who live in that other America that is not seen or talked about by many of our leaders in Washington.
