Praises the NJSEA & the Giants/Jets for New Code of Conduct Rules

 

            TRENTON – Senate President Richard J. Codey (D-Essex) today praised the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA) and the Giants and Jets football teams for instituting a new policy to govern the conduct of ticketholders and curb drunken and abusive behavior.  Last fall, Codey called on the NJSEA to crack down on drunken and unruly fan behavior that had led to harassment of a number of fans during half-time.

SENATE TO HONOR SUPER BOWL CHAMPION GIANTS,  PRESENT RESOLUTION TO COACH COUGHLIN

 

            TRENTON – The New Jersey State Senate will honor this year’s Super Bowl Champion New York Giants by presenting a ceremonial resolution to Head Coach Tom Coughlin during Thursday’s scheduled Senate session at 2:00 pm.  After accepting the resolution, sponsored by Senate President Richard J. Codey and Senator Paul A. Sarlo, Coughlin will address the Senate on the floor of the Chambers at the Statehouse in Trenton.

Carl Banks to appear at Obama fundraiser

Former New York Giants linebacker Carl Banks will headline a $1,000-per-person fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Sunday at the home of Donna and John MacPhee in Ridgewood.  Rep. Steve Rothman, Newark Mayor Cory Booker and State Sen. Loretta Weinberg will also be in attendance.

We’re only 36 days into 2008, so front runner status doesn’t always been victory – but so far, a press release issued yesterday by the leader of a independent Republican group in Bergen County -- called "OBAMA GRANDSTTANDING (sic) ON GIANTS WIN" -- may be the worst of the year.
