Businesses and Homeowners Would Benefit From Tax Exemption

Legislation sponsored by Senator Christopher "Kip" Bateman (R-16) and Senator Phil Haines (R-8) that uses tax breaks to encourage the use of renewable energy sources was unanimously passed by the State Senate today.

Former Superintendent Given $600, 000 Severance Package

Senator Phil Haines (R-8) made the following statement today regarding published reports that Hoboken's former superintendent was given a nearly $600, 000 severance package:

Senator Philip Haines, a member of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, sent a letter (attached below) today to the Executive Director of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority asking why they were forced to issue short-term bonds to avoid defaulting on current debt. The letter is attached.

Senator Phil Haines (R-8) issued the following statement today regarding Governor Corzine's indication that he will find an alternative plan to closing state parks and eliminating the New Jersey Department of Agriculture:
