Republicans have deep farm system to succeed Connors in Assembly

The retirement of State Senator Leonard Connors -- and the almost certain ascension of his son, Assemblyman Christopher Connors to the Senate -- is expected to create an open Assembly seat in the solidly-Republican ninth district. Possible candidates include: Ocean County Freeholders John Kelly, Gerald Little and John Bartlett; Berkeley Township Committeeman Carmen Amato; Lacey Mayor Mark Dykoff; Long Beach Mayor DiAnne Gove;; and Ocean Township Mayor Daniel Van Pelt.
