Angelini Statement on Transfer of UEZA Funds to Treasury Department

As the Assembly Budget Committee readies to hear legislation Thursday that will abolish the New Jersey Commerce Commission, Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini,

R-Monmouth, issued the following statement calling on  committee members to amend the bill to allow the funds from the New Jersey Urban Enterprise Zone Authority (UEZA), to be transferred to the Department of Community Affairs (DCA).

Saying Assemblyman and Passaic City Council President Gary Schaer’s new role as acting mayor of Passaic seems to violate the spirit of the Legislature’s ban on dual office holding, Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini said today she will request a legal opinion on the matter from the non-partisan Office of Legislative Services (OLS).
