Allen attacks Paulsen in pre-election public fight

State Sen. Diane Allen fired off an angry letter to the Burlington County Republican municipal chairs on Sunday, criticizing former GOP Chairman Glen Paulsen for meddling with her campaign in what appears to be a rift in the county organization.

In the letter, which Allen did not publicize, she wrote that Paulsen had, unbeknownst to her and her running mates, gone behind her back to her treasurer and essentially taken control of her campaign funds.

“This was done without the consent or knowledge of myself, Nancy (Griffin), Brian (Propp), or the former County Chairman,” wrote Allen.

Ok, not really.

But in that district, two out of the three Republican candidates are at least local celebrities. In addition to incumbent state Senator Diane Allen, who was the face of Philadelphia’s Channel 10 news for many years, the Republicans are rolling out former Philadelphia Flyer All-Star Brian Propp.

Two newspapers urge Conners ouster

Two daily newspapers that cover Burlington and Camden counties have declined to support Democratic Assemblyman Jack Conners for re-election to a sixth term.  The Courier-Post and the Burlington County Times instead endorsed GOP attorney Nancy Whatley-Griffin for the seventh district seat.

The Burlington County Times has endorsed GOP State Sen. Diane Allen and Democratic Assemblyman Herbert Conaway.  For the second Assembly seat, they want Republican Nancy Griffin instead of five-term Democrat Jack Conners.  READ
