(TRENTON) --  The Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee today released legislation Assemblyman John McKeon sponsored to reduce the number of frivolous government records requests made to the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

“I have examples of individuals using city-owned cell phones for calls to Las Vegas, Hawaii and West Palm Beach, Florida,  I don’t know that the city is doing business with anyone in Las Vegas or Hawaii or why the calls are made during work hours and why taxpayers should be paying for such calls,” said Mason    

KARCHER SUBMITS OPRA REQUEST TO REVEAL COST OF LOTTERY RE-BIDDING PROCESS

State Senator Ellen Karcher (D-Monmouth, Mercer) submitted an OPRA request yesterday to the State Department of Treasury asking for information relating to the cost associated with having to re-bid the state lottery contract due to a potential conflict of interest with a lobbying firm representing both the State and a bidder.
